With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re highlighting two artists who have created art inspired by breast cancer awareness.
Sinem Erkas,
@sinemerkas an award-winning artist and designer, brings a spirit of experimentation and fun to her creative process. She specialises in vibrant collaged worlds, using both digital and paper techniques to create 2D pieces, while also working with animation and 3D props. Feminism is central to her work, and her first illustrated book, The Girl Guide, has been published in over a dozen languages.
Harriet Noble’s
@harrietnobleart illustrative style is deeply rooted in her passion for hands-on craftsmanship, a connection that stems from childhood days spent crafting stories with cardboard and paper. While she occasionally uses traditional methods, her practice has evolved to embrace digital techniques that define her signature look. Harriet’s work is inspired by themes close to her heart, including women’s health, biology, sexual health, and science. Her characters, with their fluid, expressive forms, bring a playful and approachable energy to often sensitive or serious topics. Her art captures a joyful sense of movement while tackling important societal issues, always delivering a meaningful message.
