The track is talking about the boundaries imposed in Africa, through the religion, the necessity for our people to travel to have better life, the auto-sufficiency as freedom, the modern slavery and neocolonialism, the act of deliberately hiding, altering, or even erasing history. Against a backdrop of dubstep bass, heavy wobbles blend with whipping snares, pitched vocals create a tense atmosphere reminiscent of our struggle, a grime attitude that serves as a reminder to take a stand. Esta obra relata las historias invisibilizadas de los viajes, a la vez trágicos y llenos de esperanza, de las personas procedentes de África del Oeste y del Norte de África, a través del océano y del mar. Nexus, a project between two Jokkoo members that made their debut at our event last year at @pankeculture are back⚡️ [Nexus (B4MBA + MOOKI6)] Nexus is the project born from the union of artists B4mba and Mooki6, both members of the Barcelona-based Pan-African multidisciplinary “ Jokkoo collective.” This collaboration is their answer to a collapsing, chaotic world and a tribute to what connects them and their community through the noise and confusion. Rooted in the pulse of ancestral rhythms and the weight of deep, dark frequencies, their sound draws from punk, industrial, dancehall, noise, and trap. Their music explores the tension between darkness and illumination, a raw scream of rage, charged with emotion, memory, and urgency. poems returns to OHM with a low-end primed lineup for the heads. Conjuring ᴀᴋÏɪ, ʙ4ᴍʙᴀ (ʟɪᴠᴇ + ᴍᴄ) and ɢɪᴇꜱꜱᴇ — three bass-bending artists working off-grid. ᴀᴋÏɪ — the 𝔯𝔥𝔶𝔱𝔥𝔪 𝔰𝔥𝔞𝔭𝔢𝔯 connecting Berlin and Rome — moving through breakbeat & deconstructed bass, embroidering her fine-woven lattice with glistening details from the net. Stepping in with voice and voltage, ʙ4ᴍʙᴀ (ʟɪᴠᴇ) – a 𝔭𝔬𝔩𝔶𝔯𝔥𝔶𝔱𝔥𝔪𝔦𝔠 𝔣𝔬𝔯𝔠𝔢 from Barcelona – whose bars translate into spontaneous moshpits. Drawing from Afro-diasporic cadence, ʙᴀɪʟᴇ torque and ᴜᴋ ʙᴀꜱꜱ propulsion, he’s now landing IRL after having left his heavy imprint on the first poems release.
