We are super happy to announce an important step in the expansion of our sonic vision into other territories in the global south. We are building a bridge between Colombia, Egypt and beyond to present @3phaz_ . On this EP called DrumTraTrax, the mysterious Cairo producer embarks on an ambitious, hi-fidelity journey through three futuristic & incisive percussive hitters.
Once again, we have assembled a ridiculous combo of remix artists to complement 3Phaz’s work. Mexico’s finest, @omaarsuaarez , delivers a revamped version of ´Drum Trax’ with his trademark drums and marches. ‘Slomo Strut’ beckons for @amazonprimeshipping who has pushed the boundaries of avant-garde electronica, while @3saggila shows herself in pure form with a broken and aggressive techno version. And what can we say about @zulimusic ? totally unclassifiable music.

Nadah El Shazly lavora sulla voce come materia viva.
La porta dentro elettronica, forme della musica araba classica, paesaggi psichedelici, improvvisazione, fratture.
Il suo suono non cerca di essere rassicurante.
Si apre lentamente, cambia peso, cambia temperatura, entra in una zona dove tradizione e sperimentazione non si spiegano a vicenda: si consumano, si deformano, si tengono insieme.
Con lei, 3Phaz - EG, producer egiziano che sposta l’elettronica verso una dimensione più fisica e percussiva: ritmi spezzati, pulsazioni nordafricane, club music sporca, frequenze che arrivano dritte nel corpo.

Nata in Egitto e di stanza a Montréal, Nadah El Shazly è un producer, cantante, compositrice e attrice, lavora su una sintesi estremamente personale tra canto arabo, pratiche improvvisative e produzione elettronica, muovendosi in un territorio che attraversa avant-pop, free improvisation e musica elettronica sperimentale. Il suo lavoro è spesso descritto come un punto di incontro tra tradizione egiziana e approcci radicali alla composizione e al sound design
Il debutto Ahwar — sviluppato insieme a musicisti come Sam Shalabi e Maurice Louca — definiva già un linguaggio ibrido tra folk, elettronica, jazz e rock sperimentale. Negli anni successivi ha continuato a espandere questa ricerca anche in contesti collaborativi, tra cui progetti con Elvin Brandhi e lavori legati a voce ed elettronica.
Il suo debutto Ahwar (2017) ha ricevuto ampio riconoscimento internazionale, con esibizioni in festival e contesti internazionali di rilievo come Irtijal, Le Guess Who?, Rewire, Roskilde e Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
Il più recente Laini Tani (2025) via One Little Independent Records, prosegue in questa direzione, spostando ulteriormente il focus su manipolazione vocale, strutture aperte e interplay tra elementi acustici ed elettronici.
Live, il suo set è costruito come uno spazio fluido tra composizione e improvvisazione, dove la voce diventa materia sonora tanto quanto gli strumenti.
In tour con lei anche 3Phaz, figura centrale nella nuova elettronica egiziana e co-produttore di Laini Tani.
🔗🤍 Egyptian producer and sonic agitator 3Phaz is set to touch down in Australia for his long-awaited debut, delivering a first taste of his high-voltage fusion of Egyptian Mahraganat and Shaabi rhythms with bass, techno and forward-leaning club mutations. It’s a sound forged in Cairo’s underground; raw, percussive and unapologetically confrontational.
Emerging as a key force in the evolution of contemporary Mahraganat (a counter-culture genre famously banned from live performance in Egypt), 3Phaz has helped propel the DIY movement into new territory. Reframing its bombastic street energy through industrial sound design and system-ready low-end, he’s carved out a darker, harder and unmistakably futuristic strain of club music that sidesteps traditional gatekeepers and authority alike.
His self-titled EP and full-length album Three Phase positioned him at the forefront of experimental electronic music, earning praise for razor-sharp percussion, tectonic bass weight and meticulous production. Following that breakthrough, his 2023 release Ends Meet landed on multiple year-end best-of lists, including Pitchfork, The Quietus and Bandcamp.
Beyond the studio, 3Phaz’s reputation for high-intensity performances has seen him appear at international festivals such as Unsound Festival, Le Guess Who? and Primavera Sound, cementing his status as one of the most vital voices in global club culture.

Cairo-based DJ and producer @3phaz_ has contributed a new track titled ‘Clunk & Rattle’ to ‘SIIIX, Vol.2’, the latest compilation released by Brussels label @maloca.records .
The project, now in its second edition, is developed in collaboration with the Netherlands-based experimental percussion ensemble @hiiit_music (formerly known as Slagwerk Den Haag), which has once again invited six producers from around the globe to work with its extensive library of drum recordings.
3Phaz brings his signature percussive intensity to the release with a track built around restless drum patterns and sharp, kinetic textures, standing out for its energetic rhythmic structure. The track is part of an international line-up that also includes @ale_hophop , Uwalmassa, @rrose1921 , @grischalichtenberger and @zoemcphers .
Each artist engaged in a digital exchange with HIIIT, building compositions around newly recorded percussion elements tailored for the project. The result is a compilation that underscores collaborative creation and a shared focus on rhythm, offering a diverse palette of percussive interpretations.
