Wow!!!! Extremely excited and elated to be able to say that I was the face of Bandcamp Daily’s Best Electronic Music for March 2024 for my latest release, 22XL Remixes! If we have been in conversation at all you know that my main goals with this remix compilation were to uplift many of the producers and DJs that I’m in community with, to connect dots between the folks I run with in Atlanta and the girlies from online, and to create another capital-A Album experience that re-invents the single series from 2022. Support from dj/producer Dave Quam, and Modern Heart resident sepha. 4/25 10pm-2am Timbre Room 1809 Minor Ave Seattle twofold is an industrial club music producer/DJ whose selections center around interrogating connections between regional, Black club sounds from the US, UK and Africa. Since 2022, their sets have brought liberating percussive force to underground dance nights in Atlanta, blending favorite genres of the ‘00s and ‘10s with cutting-edge experimental sounds. Always moving with intention, twofold thrives on tracing paths through histories and geographies of dance music and finding new ways to re-center the dance floor. From blending Afro house and amapiano through UK garage and UK funky into ballroom house, Jersey club, footwork, and gqom, twofold harnesses rhythms that span across time and place, delivering energy, emotion, and movement. Their productions follow suit, colliding the progeny of these genres with the sound design languages of sci-fi cinema and triple-A video games and creating a new cultural context for both, in which the club is dramatically reconfigured into a site of sonic intervention. Their music has appeared on Jamz Supernova's label Future Bounce, as well as being highlighted in DJ Mag, and heralded by reviewers at Bandcamp over the course of their artistic growth.
