âWhat is the science behind sound baths?â might be the second most-asked question I receive in interviewsâŚ
Sound asks you to listen.
A sound bath supports the body in shifting into rest, regulation, and presence.
Pause. Listen. Notice what changes.

âWhere there is life, there is sound.
Every person, animal, plantâeven planetâknown to humanity experiences the vibrational energy of sound.
Everything in our universeâboth the material and the immaterialâis a form of vibration.
Our internal and external worlds are a cacophony of discordant noises, a vast symphony of the organic and inorganic playing together to create melodies, layered harmonies, great swells, intricate rhythms, and deep rests in which silence offers a space for these sounds to integrate into your consciousness.
Sound has been written about by countless poets, philosophers, architects, neuroscientists, and musicians. For centuries we have been using sound as a tool to celebrate, communicate, mourn, pray, and reduce pain and discomfort.
Through sound we achieve a deeper understanding of self, we have a shared experience with others, and we connect to something greater. Sound can also help us disconnectâunplug, escape, and find balance and harmony in the mind and body.
Sound is an invitation. It invites us to examine and understand the space around us, express and manifest thought, share our emotions, and find equilibrium.â

Your voice shapes what comes next.
I created Auster Sound from a deeply personal practice of listeningâand everything I build continues to be in conversation with you.
Iâd love to hear where you are in your journey with sound, whatâs resonating, and what youâre needing more of right now.
Iâve put together a short survey (just a few minutes), and your responses will directly inform what I create next.
As a thank you:
â youâll receive a free audio download
â and be entered to win a virtual 1:1 sound bath session with me
Survey closes Sunday, 4/12 at 11:59pm.
Take the survey at the link in bio.
With gratitude,
Sara

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the LES Girls Club Planetarium for a journey through inner and outer spaceâour monthly evening of listening, softening, and expanding together beneath the stars. In honor of Artemis II - Iman, our resident astrophysicist, took us on a tour of the moon.
@girlsclubny is such a vital space in NYC, supporting and uplifting young women and gender-expansive youth through creativity, learning, and community. It is always an honor to share sound in a place that holds so much possibility.
With gratitude đ¤

December 2025 wrapped up five beautiful years with First Class Tattoo.
2025 was a big one. It was a year I often wished for more hours in each day. Besides being my last year at First Class,
It was also my first year as a resident artist with @chinatownsoup
I graduated the sound bath meditation practitioner training with @saraauster
Continued playing the handpan
Motorcycled through Tuscany
Tried BJJ
Began my journey with studio recording
Continued sitting with medicine
and celebrated 9 years of recoveryâ¨
This year I tried to move from pressure to play, and saw fully just how much I get in my own way.
To all of my clients and friends, a Venn diagram thatâs looking more and more like a circle these days - I look around myself and am continuously humbled by the incredible people I get to stand along, and whose stories I get to be a part of. You keep me alive in many more ways than one. Thank you for trusting me with your skin and with your hearts.
With so much gratitude to my years at First Class. I wouldnât be here today without every single one of you who was a part of this chapter.
Stay tuned for big things coming in 2026đ¤
Love you all

This full moon is a moment for refinement. đ
What is still unresolved? âŚresponsibilities, roles, expectations that ask to be reorganized or released? Clarity doesnât come from force. It comes from learning how to listen.
That kind of listening can be cultivated.
The @austersoundmethod is a precise, embodied approach to sound - developed through decades of study, practice, and application in professional, therapeutic, and ceremonial spaces around the world. It works with the nervous system, perception, and presence, offering a foundation that supports both personal practice and professional application.
The next ASM Online Training begins soon! â¨Spaces are limited so each student can receive individual support to deepen and grown their practice.
Choose discernment and depth. â¨Choose what truly supports you.

January is a threshold.
For some a push forward, for others a quiet sorting.
What stays.
What softens.
What is ready to be released.
Before the year gathers speed, let sound offer a place to listenâ
to integrate what has been lived,
and clear space for what wants to arrive.
