I turned a Marianne Moore poem from the 1800s into a punk song for the public song project. Full @wnyc interview + song link in bio. In August, I performed at the Brooklyn Public Library for WNYC’s Public Song Project, setting Marianne Moore’s poem A Jellyfish to a punk song 🪼🎸. Showing how the public domain can be playful, political, and collective cracked something open in me. Sharing it in a public space, open to all, felt like the truest version of the work I want to make. Grateful to WNYC for selecting me, and excited to keep exploring what’s possible when we breathe new life into old words. ✨ 📸 by @tryating #PublicSongProject #PublicDomainArt #punkgirl #bikinikill #mariannemoore #wnyc

@neoancients makes its New York debut with a one-night pop-up at @sctrpc (Queens, NY) — a setting uniquely aligned with the festival’s world of music, ritual and contemporary folklore. LINE UP @memorialsmusic @wahssalguod (Doug Shaw aka Highlife) @annirossi Headlined by the festivals UK headliners @memorialsmusic , fresh from the release of their new album 'All Clouds Bring Not Rain' (March 2026), the evening offers a rare chance to experience one of the UK’s most compelling new acts in an intimate setting. Described by @kexp as “kaleidoscopic art-pop and adventurous psych-rock with an immersive, experimental aura,” MEMORIALS operate at the intersection of experimentation and melody. @wahssalguod /Doug Shaw (aka Highlife) is a London born songwriter living and performing in New York since 2003. Shaw moonlights in sways as Gang Gang Dance’s bassist and was formerly long-time guitarist and multi-instrumentalist of Drag City group White Magic as well as Sierra Leonean star “Bubu King” Janka Nabay’s band. @annirossi is a Queens-based interdisciplinary song-maker creating performance-driven work at the intersection of song, movement, and clown. She has released solo albums on labels including 4AD and Too Pure, with a new album forthcoming later this year on her own imprint, Land Majestic Records. She has presented original work at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and appeared as a performer in works at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Chocolate Factory Theater, and REDCAT, among others.
