Introducing the MESSWORK Living Archive… An evolving, in-process archive emerging from our psychosomatic practice and pedagogy; cultivating, curating, and disseminating a wider body of work and knowledge across somatics, psychology, phenomenology, performance as research, gesture, esotericism, philosophy, gestalt, materiality, self-study, spirituality, devotional practices, metaphysical inquiry, and the occult. Growing through mentorship, collaboration, community-building, intuitive sourcing, and independent practice, the archive operates as a node within a network of symbiotic relationships where work is contextualized and circulated, while artists retain ownership over their work and commerce. This weekend marks its first public iteration at the Other Islands Book Fair. A digital archive will continue to be built and launched on MESSWORK’s site this summer. #archive #curation #tacitknowledge #ecology #messwork

Last year, we hand-made “a messy book of us” (an edition of 75), with heroic efforts from @chayseiwalker , as a way to gather, observe, intuit, express, and make meaning together in community. While the project was inspired and initiated through one of our workshop offerings as a site-specific inquiry for a particular environment, community, and modality, the practice that emerged continues to evolve, refine, and unfold… This year, we’re looking forward to expanding into new materialities and modes of making and inquiry, creating some artifacts simply to exist, most with the intention of being shared. Each piece carries our embodiment, ethos, practice-as-process, and an orientation towards work that’s attuned, relational, slow, curious, full of care, and catalysed by working with mess as a generative force. We share this marker as an indicator of where we are, where we’ve been, and what we’re moving towards; with offerings, artifacts, objects, books, totems, and practices in formation...

Embodied Making: Collage, Creativity, and Parts-Work | Pratt Family Day, 2024 Catching up on sharing work that’s been unfolding slowly, collectively, and with care… Embodied Making: Collage, Creativity, and Parts-Work was offered as part of Pratt’s Family Day for two years running, creating space for students and families to engage in psychosomatic practice and intuitive collage-making together. Working relationally and across generations, the workshop centered creativity as a way of listening, connecting, and meaningfully being with one another. The works shared here emerged from the room —artifacts of process, presence, and shared inquiry. Grateful for the care, presence, participation, and wild creativity that shaped the gathering. More to come.

In the quiet of winter and the early days of the new year, our attention returns to spaces that offer warmth, slowness, and shared inquiry. Last fall, we gathered for our Embodied Making offering at @lepetitmonstrebk , working with body, image, parts, and whole through somatic practice and intuitive collage making. Grateful for everyone who joined with openness and care, and for environments and collaborations that make this kind of gentle, creative exploration possible; more to come.

LIGHT WORK Meaningful work, held in a meaningful space... I’m so grateful for the privilege and gift of collaborating, creating, and holding a container for somatic group inquiry; a collaborative sanctuary of light and depth facilitating the weaving of individual wisdom into collective healing. What unfolded was subtle, luminous, and quietly powerful. We worked with breath, body, and image, with the unseen and the deeply felt. There were no photos of people or names, just reverence for the process and for those who entered it. Some spaces don’t ask to be witnessed publicly. Some work is too sacred to name. This was that kind of work. #somatic #somatics #groupwork #embodiment #resilience #expansion #grounding #capacity #capacitybuilding #insightwork #messwork

CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF MESSWORK! Join us as we reflect on a year of transformation, growth, and mess-making. Over the past twelve months, we’ve done some challenging, deep, and meaningful work, excavating our individual and collective consciousness while moving towards more abundant and vibrant living through the catalyst of mess. HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR FIRST YEAR Since August 2023, we’ve offered more than 320 sessions, including Personal Transformation, Practice Building, and Somatic Movement sessions. We’ve also hosted 14+ workshops, empowering over 70 clients to embrace and integrate their creativity, grit, and resilience in a movement towards authenticity. Our offerings, such as Embodied Making and Embodied Practice for Difficult Conversations, have supported individuals, groups, and even families in traversing the mess inherent to everyday living. STORIES OF TRANSFORMATION We’ve been terrifically privileged to witness remarkable transformations. Here are a few anonymous words from our spectacular clients: “Being in close proximity to Cri and witnessing her support and capacity to hold space in the practitioner role has been nothing short of transformational for me. My capacity, heart, relational skills, personal work, and acceptance and love for myself have evolved immeasurably in the presence and because of Cri.” “I am deeply touched by the details Cri’s feedback consists of, her ability to meet me where I’m at, the boundaries she examples, her experience and skill set, and the empowerment I’m left feeling in my relationship with her in all capacities.” “My fullness, mess, love, and all emotions have been encouraged, met, and held with the utmost love, respect, and curiosity by Cri. Words limit my ability to capture the tremendous impact Cri has in my life but it is felt on all levels of my being.” Continued in the next post 👉🏼 #celebrating #somaticpractice #process #personaltransformation #birthday #highlights #sessions #movement #workshops #testimonials #creative #growth #progress #resilience #messy #mess #messwork
