Check out these awesome documentation pics that @mikeymosher_photo took of my bfa piece! This work was a lot of fun to make and is another work of mine where each color is a symbolic sort of code lol The main focus of this work was to create a sort of landscape of ideas. Specifically I wanted to explore the rise of glossy sheek capitalism that sells you the idea that working and productivity is the only reason for living and being and how that is often either a corrupting influnce or acts as direct opposition on more human base emotions of desire, ambition, hunger, loss, and compassion that should be more valued than profit.

Cicadatest.ai 2024 :) Designed by me and riso-printed by @tetanusfairy as part of their mail call series, a free art distribution program that Grace organizes and produces! This was the first time I've ever explored extending the design into the crop marks. The poster was inspired by a day in the summer, where the cicadas were the dominant life form in the city, and their reach was inescapable. I've always been a bug foe, so this was a bit of a fun self-imposed challenge to imagine a meeting with a cicada as a pleasant encounter. First riso of the semester! These are responses to The Truman Show (1998). The assignment was to watch the film and pay mind to the presence of hyper-reality and late stage capitalism as themes in the film. I think the movie was really worth the second watch, and I am interested in the relationship between freedom, love, and making within the film! It's also interesting to think about the ways the movie forecasted certain issues that have arrived as a result of the further integration and advancement of the internet since 1998. Specifically, the issue of corporate surveillance for the means of commerce and the issue of the commodification of one's identity and privacy.

Unfortunately-cropped slides from my first presentation of grad school on manual, mechanical, and systematic 'tools'. I went with dice, the roulette wheel, and stock trading equipment as emergent designed tools and concepts in response to varying understandings of chance and the unknown through history. Ultimately something for fun, if only Instagram didn't force square formats

Was getting annoyed with regular post ratios and realized reels are poster shaped so here we are, first reel! Was doing some sketching so to speak in illustrator and had so many "wow I can do this new trick" moments, exported my image and then it crashed and I didn't save the ai file lol, save your work! Thanks to Graysen for the Eclipse photo

Work from my screenprint critique! For my final studio class, I decided to just stuff that amused or interested me. Screenprint was great, and I'll keep doing more
