Jo Ractliffe: Out of Place @jeudepaumeparis “Curated by @pia_viewing_ , the survey offers “a different way of looking at my work, beyond the idea of ‘landscape,’” Ractliffe said.“ Often, my photographs are understood as spaces of violence untethered from place—they become something strange and abstract. But for this show, we’re anchoring the images to their settings.” Toward this specificity of context, the exhibition includes more than a hundred previously unexhibited photographs, “expanding an understanding of both my practice and places that I have been repeatedly drawn to.” From Lucienne Bestall @luciennepallas , “A Witness to South Africa’s Postapartheid Landscape,” an article originally published in @aperturefnd No. 261, “The Craft Issue,” under the column Studio Visit.

We are excited to invite you to an engaging presentation on Caribbean women’s photography by 2026 Research Fellow Lauren Baccus, in collaboration with FIU’s Department of Art + Art History (@fiuart ). In Conversation: Lauren Baccus and Aldeide Delgado features 2026 WOPHA Research Fellow Lauren Baccus (@bythelb ) in dialogue with WOPHA Founder & Director Aldeide Delgado (@aldeide_delgado ). Baccus will share her research project, “Intimate Archives and Black Feminist Memory”, which explores Caribbean women’s photography as a practice of intimate archiving and a form of Black feminist memory work. WOPHA and Green Space Miami are pleased to present “Finding One’s Ceremony”, a two-person exhibition curated by Aldeide Delgado, Founder and Director of WOPHA. Featuring Miami-based artists of Peruvian descent Diana Larrea and Zonia Zena, the exhibition explores the universal question of who we are, through their ongoing connection to ancestral ceremonial practices in Peru. Although both were raised and educated in Miami, returning to their homeland becomes a kind of renewed migration: an experience of rediscovery shaped by memory, family histories, and cultural inheritance. The exhibition marks the beginning of a year-long partnership that establishes Green Space Miami as WOPHA’s physical home throughout 2026. This collaboration opens new partnerships with the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University and extends WOPHA’s ongoing relationship with the Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute at Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). These partnerships reaffirm a shared commitment to advancing diversity, inclusivity, and innovation within contemporary photographic practice. Join us for our upcoming opening reception on Friday, February 27, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Green Space Miami. RSVP via our link in bio. #WophaFoundation #GreenSpaceMiami #MiamiArts

✨ (III) Looking back on 2025 with gratitude for the people, encounters, and experiences that shaped a year of growth, exploration, and preparation for what lies ahead. This was a year marked by an intense amount of administrative work 👩🏽‍💻: writing grants, agreements, protocols, and exhibition proposals… I felt the weight of building the legal and structural frameworks needed as @wophafoundation continues to evolve. Balancing freedom and order while building an institution of a new kind is a challenge. At times, I missed the creative space that comes with writing and curating but felt empowered and started to reflect deeper, inspired by @madamekoyo , on my curatorial practice as institution building. This year also brought opportunities to mentor, advise, and collaborate with institutions while sharing knowledge along the way. Most importantly, I connected with a remarkable community of people who made this journey feel warm, welcoming, inspiring, and deeply supportive. To all of you, thank you. 🙏🏽 1. As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for a year shaped by learning, exchange, and community. We produced workshops at the Brooklyn Museum (@brooklynmuseum ) and Green Space Miami (@greenspacemiami ). Our Artist-in-Residence program celebrated its fifth anniversary. We launched Image Readings, opening our doors to new voices and inviting artists and community members to engage in dialogue with one another, among many other meaningful initiatives. None of this would have been possible without the institutions and individuals who believe deeply in our mission. We are especially grateful to the foundations that stood alongside us during a pivotal year and helped carry our vision forward through their generous support: the Green Family Foundation (@greenfforg ), the Mellon Foundation (@mellonfoundation ), and the Pérez CreARTE Grant from The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation(@perezfamilyfoundation ) at The Miami Foundation (@miamifoundation ). We are also thankful for more than three years of continued partnership with the Green Space Miami (@greenspacemiami ), El Espacio 23 (@elespacio23 ), The Betsy Hotel (@thebetsyhotel ), Pérez Art Museum Miami (@pamm ), The Green Family Foundation Caribbean Cultural Institute, and the Rubell Museum (@rubellmuseum ). Finally, and most importantly, we are grateful to our community, whose presence, curiosity, and commitment sustain everything we do. As we look ahead to 2026, we remain committed to strengthening WOPHA as the meeting place for photography in Miami and beyond through connection, critical dialogue, and collective imagination. Happy holidays! #WophaFoundation #PhotographyCommunity #WomenPhotographers
