FIU Art + Art History alumni Karla Kantorovich and Marcos Valella, alongside Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor Moira Holohan, are showing this week at Future Fair NY 2026 as part of Field Conditions, Dimensions Variable’s presentation at Booth F1, Chelsea Industrial, 535 W 28th Street. Kantorovich works with assemblages of textiles, handmade paper, and sustainably sourced materials, bringing the logic of natural cycles and renewal into the field. Valella’s paintings, built from spray paint, found objects, and assembled fabric, move between the finished and the perpetually open. Holohan’s woven textiles and flip-book animations juxtapose the laborious and the immediate, encoding visual language through abstraction, Morse code, and the layered mark. Field Conditions features 13 artists from the Dimensions Variable ecosystem, with works distributed without hierarchy, meaning produced through proximity and relation rather than composition. Congratulations to Aimee Rubensteen and Dr. Josh Eisenberg of @myfistudio ! After presenting their work at FIU’s Miami Beach Visual Arts Gallery, the duo traveled to Japan to give a lecture at Kyousei no Sato Museum in the mountains of Asakura — where the museum requested an excerpt from their MBVA performance to display. Their work was also featured at the Paik After Paik symposium marking the 20th anniversary of Nam June Paik’s passing, with Smithsonian archivist Hannah Pacious presenting MyFi’s art to an international audience. @fiucarta @fiu_carta_dean #FIUArtandArtHistory #FIUArt #CARTACreativeForcesAtWork

Join Locust Projects in #TheDiLL for a one-night student group show presented with DMINTI Art Foundation highlighting emerging practices thinking critically about artificial intelligence. Attendant Engagements No. 2 brings together new works by five student artists whose practices span painting, sculpture, video, and digital media. Developed as the culminating phase of DMINTI Art Foundation's Artist Engagement Fellowship—originally initiated in collaboration with The Bass and in partnership with higher education institutions including FIU, New World School of the Arts, and Miami Dade College—the exhibition features work informed by direct engagement with an AI-driven portrait environment by Michelangelo Pistoletto currently on view at The Bass. At Locust Projects, that fellowship culminates in a public presentation of new work from emerging voices within Miami's art and tech ecosystem. Featuring works by: Laura Alfonso Chelsey Dalberry @chelseyxdesign Melissa Pedemonte @melon.pdmnt Francisco Rodriguez @franky.rodriguez023 Lily Silva-Jones @s.ilvajones Presented as part of Locust Late @ The DiLL and the Knight Digital Initiative, this presentation reflects Locust Projects' ongoing commitment to supporting work that emerges from sustained engagement between artists, technology, and higher education communities. #thedill #locustprojects #artandtechnology #artandtech @thebassmoa @fiucarta @nswaschool @mdcollege
