Join us on April 10 from 2–4 PM at the Green Library for a special celebration of art, culture, and collaboration. 🌟
Through a partnership between the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida and Florida International University, this gathering celebrates the installation of two canvas works by Imara-Bella Thorpe, Tribal artists, FIU students, and volunteers.
Inspired by the Everglades ecosystem and informed by Miccosukee traditions and ecological knowledge, the works reflect a collaborative artistic and scientific process of storytelling, cultural expression, and environmental understanding.
In parallel, and throughout the month of April, FIU Special Collections at the Green Library will present an exhibition on Miccosukee art, history, and tradition. Curated by Embassy Fellow and Archives Technician Kendal Osceola (Tahkoshahathee clan), the exhibition
features contemporary works by community members, Lego patchwork designs, patchwork clothing, and archival photographs on display for the first time.

(Popeye) Osceola, Camisha Cedartree, Kristyanna Tigertail-Alicea, Cristina Osceola, Casey Blanco, Melany Flint, Lorena Sosa, Elisabeth Belomlinsky, Will Larkins, Silvio Pupo-Casco, Zen Caldwell, Sawyer Roby, Nia Larkins, Miguel Guzman, Emma Bradley, Jack Ramirez, Archoiris Williams, Karel Lopez-Minot, Pat Valladares, Joseph Roca ,and Mathew Barker.
