Set on a 71-acre property along Hawaiโiโs Kona coffee belt, ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐บ transforms a working agricultural landscape into a tasting room, distillery lab, and gathering place rooted in the craft of making. Designed by WRNS Studio, the project immerses visitors in the process of distilling and the surrounding agricultural landscape.
The project began with a copper still stored in a shipping container on the property before design began. From that starting point, the brief was simple: create a destination where new spirits could be developed using local ingredientsโcoffee cherries, pineapple, ti plants, and native botanicalsโwhile inviting visitors into the process.
Visitors arrive along an orchard-lined drive before the tasting room emerges through coconut trees, opening to sweeping views of the Pacific. A deep roof overhang shades the building while supporting rooftop photovoltaics, helping reduce energy use by more than 50%.
Inside, the copper still sits at the heart of the spaceโmaking the act of distilling part of the experience. Rainwater collection and reuse of process water reduce potable water demand by roughly 30%, helping irrigate the surrounding gardens and orchards.
A working farm, a distillery, and a gathering place rooted in Hawaiโiโs land and culture.
