Our TEE family shows up! Doug hopped on his bike for a 300-mile, 4-day ride to raise money for HIV/AIDS — a ride he helped start 22 years ago. Today, his route brought him past our Auburn office, and of course our TEEPLE showed up to cheer him on every mile of the way. Way to go, Doug! 🚴‍♂️

Fun Fact: Did you know that our office in Alameda, also known at the Powerhouse is a historic site? It was built in 1917 and is on the list of the National Register of Historic Places. During the First World War, the Union Iron Works Powerhouse was the main electrical generating plant for the Alameda Works of the Union Plant, a division of the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation. The Alameda Works was the largest shipbuilding plant on the Pacific Coast. The powerhouse was the first PG&E substation in Alameda, a city with its own Bureau of Electricity.

Last week, we had the chance to bring our teams together across offices! Monica from our LA office and Jacqueline from Auburn visited our San Diego TEEple and even made time to catch a San Diego Padres game. Moments like these are what make our culture so special.

At TEE, we’re always looking for ways to bring people together beyond the day-to-day work and this time, it was one step at a time. We had 42 participants join the challenge, together we surpassed 10 million steps and covered over 4,700 miles as a TEEam. Whether it was early morning walks, lunchtime laps, or evening catch-ups on steps, the TEEam made it happen. Our Walking Challenge turned into more than just tracking steps. It sparked some serious competition, plenty of laughs and some amazing photos. Here is a collection of all the great snapshots everyone captured!

🏃‍♂️ TEE’s First Ever Walking Challenge is officially underway… and things escalated quickly. What started as a friendly step competition has already turned into a full-blown showdown across the TEEam. Rumor has it the San Diego office is either out hunting for every extra step they can find… or practicing poses for their next album cover. We’re still investigating. Meanwhile, one thing has become very clear: This challenge has turned into IT Mike vs. literally everyone else at TEE. This leaderboard is getting intense. Who’s going to take the crown? Stay tuned… because the TEEam is just getting warmed up.

Last week our wonderful team consisting of Andrea Beard, Mabel Alcantara, Monica Negrete, Yuri Carrillo and Scott Wheeler attended the @calpoly career fair and led a presentation to the Women in Electrical Engineering organization. We loved meeting so many motivated students and connecting with the next generation of engineers hearing their goals, sharing our experiences, and talking about what it really looks like to grow your career in a supportive, people-first culture.

Casino night with the best kind of coworkers, the kind you actually WANT to spend your time with. We are so grateful to work alongside such a fun, supportive, and genuinely amazing team. It really is special when work feels less like work and more like a place you’re excited to show up to every day. #teeple

Company culture isn’t a slogan on a wall it’s moments like this. It’s collaboration, support, and taking time to enjoy the journey together. When people feel connected, great work follows. Proud of this team and the culture we’re growing together. #TEEPLE

Meet our newest team member, Andrea! She joins TEE as our Director of Business Development—a brand-new role created with her in mind! Andrea was drawn to TEE by the opportunity to go deeper into the AEC industry and by our strong company culture, which she says she felt from the very first conversation. With 20 years of experience spanning GC marketing and business development as well as architectural BD, she’s especially excited to learn our people and processes and continue growing through mentorship. Outside the office, you’ll find Andrea spending time with family, tackling house projects, cooking, caring for her plants, or walking the dog. Her productivity secret? Old-school printed notes and crossing items off Post-its because nothing beats that satisfying crinkle. Fun fact: Andrea played four years of varsity water polo and swimming in high school! We’re thrilled to have you on the team welcome, Andrea!
