GRANDPARENTS I’M IN THE BOOK😭🄹⁣ Guinness World Records 2025 70th EditionšŸŒŽšŸ“šā£ ⁣ I think every person has a memory associated with GWR specifically the book! ⁣ ⁣ For me it was flipping through the Scholastic pamphlets in school as a kid to order the book & then reading the books in libraries or book fairs. ⁣ ⁣ It’s pretty damn cool & epic to see me being in THE book! Just a kid from the 905…living out his dreams⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I got to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the @bluejays !⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s such an honour to walk out onto that field under those lights & roof….there’s so much history, so much importance, so much…Toronto.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I grew up with the Roger’s Centre as this spectacle of a place. The imagery of the roof open & seeing the @cntower in the back, the iconic Jose Bautista bat flip, the fans in blue & white walking up & down Spadina/Front St and people going crazy for Jays season to start as it’s the unofficial official sign of spring for the city. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When my family immigrated here, they got to watch & witness the Jays become back to back World Series Champions so it was one of the first western sports they learned about.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I can’t begin to say how much of a dream this experience was. People always ask me how I can always do so many things that just feel or sound so impossible or unattainable. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I grew up being taught to be reasonable, to do what is possible & to do what’s ā€œsafeā€. But I always looked at things and questioned why can’t I do this or why can’t I try. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Everything’s impossible until it’s proven…& then it’s possible.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So although I grew up being taught that way, I didn’t believe it was how I was suppose to live. I want to hopefully show people through my life that if I can do it/something… whatever they are thinking is impossible can be possible! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s like baseball because it’s historically known as the ā€œAmerican Dreamā€ where it’s the promise that through talent, hard work & perseverance, anyone can achieve greatness.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’m a kid from Mississauga from immigrant parents sponsored to Canada by a take out chinese restaurant who never had his own room until his twenties, made his first salary of $30K only a few years ago, is a chef who now cooks online…& stepped up to pitch for one of Canada’s biggest sports team. Think Big,Dream Big, Believe Big & the RESULTS WILL BE BIG!⁣ ⁣ A Billboard in Times Square NYCā˜‘ļøā£ ⁣ I remember coming to Times Square for the first time as a teenager & I was just so inspired, so taken back & so amazed at all the lights, the sparkle, the grandness & the excitement of this crazy place known around the world.⁣ ⁣ I didn’t know how I would accomplish it but I couldn’t help but dream & think about how cool & proud it would be to be amongst/part of all of it. ⁣ ⁣ Well it finally happened & it felt like everything I imagined it to be & more. It’s hard to describe the feeling; it’s so euphoric & surreal but also such a sense of accomplishment. Seeing myself up there amongst all the other billboards, the hustle & bustle of NYC, the sounds, the people…I couldn’t help but go ā€œwowā€ followed by a ā€œI did itā€ā£ ⁣ Whatever you love & want to do ,go fully into it & give it your all because if you do that…only good can come from it & anything is possible; the skies the limit!⁣ ⁣ I’m just a guy who makes & shares content about his life & passions in life. Once a year, The Chairman (Best Restaurant in Asia 2026) unveils a collaboration & expectations always run high. PART 2| How Japans best whetstones are madešŸ”Ŗ The analogy of making toishi(whetstones) as being similar to baking a cake is very accurate. Mixing the wet ingredients with the dry, we achieve a batter that gets molded into the whetstone shape & then baked in one of the largest baking conveyor belts I’ve ever seen. The process is tedious, precise and as you will get to see… extremely hot 1200C/2200F. All needed to ensure you achieve an extremely strong & high quality toishi. I got the opportunity to go visit ę–°é¾åŸŽčŒ¶ęØ“ dim sum restaurant with @ilikefishballs that has been touching the hearts & stomachs of locals since 1959! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on the perspective) the area they are in is being reclaimed to create more government housing & his staff is taking this opportunity as a sign for them to retire. Here you feel like you’re transported to the 60’s as everything has that nostalgic feel & energy. It’s very rare to find restaurants that have been thriving for so long & also play such a role in the local community of Choi Hung Rainbow Estate. It’s a spot where people not just go to eat but to come hang out & to share about their lives with friends & family. No frills, no fuss; what you get here is the classic definition of your ā€œlocal spotā€. They make everything from scratch & keep replenishing only when items are selling out. They have your classic items like har gaw, shiu mai, char siu bao etc but they also have rare items like duck feet with beancurd & taro, glutinous rice dumplings & steamed chicken with fish maw. It’s the combination of the location, the familiarity of the staff with the guests & years of serving freshly made dim sum that give this place that ā€œvarnishā€ you can only ever get with time. We were super lucky to get to experience & enjoy this place before it closes for ever. If you get a chance to see the owner, try to talk to him because he is a character & although he might seem intimidating, he’s just a guy who loves his job, knows everyone by name & holds the whole place down.
