HOT OFF THE PRESS !! The Wall Street Journal @WSJ calls VSF’s solo booth with Jessie Homer French (b.1940) “a standout among standouts at Frieze.” “Ms. French is a singular voice whose dispatches on ecology are as tragic as they are charming.” Image 1 courtesy of Frieze. Full time mom, full time candidate, and full time art dealer. A little nutty, but I love every minute. Ever wonder what an art gallery owner does? We spend much of our time with the artists. We are the breadwinner, financial advisor, and therapist for many with no safety net. I care deeply about my community of artists - those that make their world anew through their humanity. In the era of AI, our humanity will be our greatest, most exquisite asset. I’m proud to present Jessie Homer French’s solo show at Frieze LA starting February 26th. Come by and support artists.

Congratulations to Glen Wilson on the completion of his new public installation 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴: 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘸 commissioned by New York City School Construction Authority’s Public Art for Public Schools, in partnership with NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. The installation of glass mosaic and printed aluminum weaves together themes of culture, community, and cosmos. Installed at PS 105 in the Bronx, the piece is now in the collection of the NYC Department of Education, Public Art for Public Schools. The work pays tribute to the Bronx’s wide range of musical contributions including Cumbia, Hip Hop, and Jazz. As Wilson explains, his artwork seeks to “amplify the overlapping modes of inquiry and discovery that link all art and science. It is exciting to imagine young minds opening to new vibrations and pathways to becoming.” @dubarts @nyculture @artaic @nycscagram #publicartforpublicschools #nycsca #nyculture #artinschools #publicart

VSF is proud to participate in Fall of Freedom with Sarah Zapata’s solo exhibition. Fall of Freedom is an urgent call to the arts community to unite in defiance of authoritarian forces sweeping the nation. VSF is one of the hundreds of artists and galleries participating in this nationwide stand against a fascist administration. Zapata is a Peruvian-American textile artist whose body of work addresses issues of labor, systems of power and control, cultural relativism, Queerness, and the intersectionality of identity. Sarah Zapata’s 𝘉𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 looks directly at the body and the landscape. Zapata’s show title uses the word prospect to refer to land, and also to potential. In both the sense of the fantasy required to dream of a different future, but also the acknowledgement of the present times. Zapata’s works are on view at VSF OC through December 13.
