End of an era... sad to hear of the death of Martin Parr. A former resident of Ireland, he was a frequent visitor and a friend to many. He created memorable, iconic images, supported fellow artists and shaped the direction of contemporary photography. @photomuseumirl had the pleasure of sharing his work with Irish audiences across the decades - from his early B&W Irish work through to his recent Irish retrospective. Steve Pyke's epic 'Scribendi - Portraits of Irish Writers 1885 - 2025' exhibition and book, published by @lilliputpress , launched last week @photomuseumirl to a capacity audience with an insightful conversation between writer Timothy O'Grady, @antony_farrell and Steve. Great opening speeches by @pyke.eye , @lilliput_press and @louise.kennedyy captured the cultural significance of this landmark project with insight and wit. @photomuseumirl have really enjoyed working Steve over the past year to realise this compelling exhibition, produced in-house by our talented team and @ellis_robert 👏👏 On show until 02 November, the show is available to tour to venues. The beautiful book, designed by @hitoneie is available in@our bookshop. 🙏🙏🙏 @artscouncilireland @dublincitycouncil @dublincityartsoffice @theheritagecouncil
