Frameworks, a new classroom-based education programme has been launched by @corkcountycouncil ’s Culture and Creativity team. Funded by Creative Ireland, the programme will allow selected schools to become temporary custodians of original artworks from Cork County Council’s civic collection. Pupils will take part in a rich creative learning experience led by a professional artist-in-residence, offering a rare opportunity to experience, explore and respond to original works of art within their own classroom. Applications are now open, and any primary schools interested in taking part are invited to apply by emailing [email protected]. The closing date for applications is 6pm, Friday, 30th May.

The short film ‘Brown Bread’ which was funded by Creative Ireland has been earning plaudits and reaching audiences around the world on its successful festival run since it premiered last year. Over the weekend, the film described as “a modern twist on the Irish emigration story” picked up an honour at the 59th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival @worldfesthouston . It has also recently been acquired by @disneyplus and will be screened on @aerlingus flights from July 1st. ‘Brown Bread’ marks the narrative debut from writer/director @shaunaghconnaire , the two-time Emmy-nominated Irish journalist who has produced documentaries for the likes of the BBC and PBS Frontline, and stars award-winning actors Fionnula Flanagan and Katie McGrath. @networkirelandtelevision @julieryan99
