This one feels special.â¨Every once in a while, a project comes along that reminds us why we do this â why we chase light and weather and crazy ideas, why we stay committed to craft and story after all these years. After 15+ years in the industry, itâs easy to become jaded by the grind, the logistics, the deadlines, the repetition. Stories and visuals can start to feel predictable, recycled.
Mountains of the Moon began as a spark, an evolution of a creative pursuit Sweetgrass explored over a decade ago. The dream of pushing night-ski cinematography into a deeper and more art-driven realm has lived in our DNA for years. To see that spark catch fire again, reimagined and elevated by
@chrisbenchetler and his incredible team, has been profoundly inspiring.
Art does not belong to any one person or moment. It moves, evolves, and returns. Creativity is a tide each wave shaped by the one that came before it reminding us that there is always more to discover.
When Chris called, we knew something big was coming together. Chris is one of the hardest-working and kindest humans out there, and he poured everything into this film. He gathered one of the most talented, dedicated creative crews in the game, and weâre honored to have been alongside them.
Special shoutout to Sweetgrass Productionsâ own Zach Ramras, who served as Assistant Director on this film â helping steer vision, logistics, and spirit through one of the most demanding productions weâve ever been part of.
Nearly 40 nights in the mountains. Cold. Fatigue. Weather. Technical hurdles and what emerged from the collective effort of athletes, camera ops, lighting techs, editors, producers, PAs, publicists, and so many others is something rare â and worth watching.
For now, sit back and enjoy the trailer for đď¸ of the đ.â¨The film premieres November 14, 2025 in Los Angeles, followed by a tour.
