Two summers ago I directed a film for Frank Gehry (still to be released). It was a rare privilege to spend time with the legendary architect and designer. At 94, he was energetic, generous, and full of mischief as we revisited his childhood neighbourhood which, coincidentally, was where I was living at the time. We walked through the AGO he expanded in 2008, wandered Kensington Market, had coffee across from his mother’s home at Dundas & Rushholme, and visited (for the first time in his life) the burial site of his grandfather and namesake, Frank Goldberg. It was a brief crossing of paths, but one I’ll always carry. Grateful for the time, the stories, and the spark he had at 94. Rest in peace, Frank.
Visualizing “Circles in Life” in a brand campaign I directed for Intermountain Health.
