Amid @altaskiarea ’s record breaking, 903-inch season, our crew joined Alta Ski Patrol to witness and document the conclusion of Alta’s venerable avalanche artillery program. It’s the end of a 75-year era when weapons of war served as an instrumental tactic in avalanche mitigation at Alta Ski Area.

The feeling of cutting 8s is indescribable. Yes, it’s backwards to eschew the temptation to seek the untracked, but to create something beautiful together is a sensation that you simply must try.
