Last year we worked with @portsmouthcathedral to design and make a new welcome desk and shop counter. The desk was kept low and uncomplicated to allow visitors to be greeted personally by the Cathedral’s volunteers and the materiality was simple and robust, in keeping with the Cathedral itself. Abstract Erotic at The Courtauld Gallery Now open, ‘Abstract Erotic’ at The Courtauld Gallery is a unique chance to see extraordinary sculptures by Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse and Alice Adams in one place - three pioneering artists of the 20th century who, in 1960s New York, produced startling new bodies of work that turned modern sculpture on its head. This major exhibition foregrounds their shared commitment to using humour and abstract form to ask important questions about sexuality and bodies. Designed by Nissen Richards Studio, this is the first time The Courtauld has staged an ambitious group exhibition of this kind, with three-dimensional works suspended from the ceiling and abstract sculpture filling the gallery spaces in bold and unconventional ways. Pippa Nissen, Director of Nissen Richards Studio, commented: ‘This is the first temporary exhibition that we have worked on at The Courtauld – and in the only spaces that weren’t part of our original gallery scope when we worked on the Gallery’s Stirling Prize-shortlisted refurbishment in 2023. We wanted to reflect the feeling of an iconic exhibition from the 60s, with the artworks, many created using unusual and delicate materials, given space, but still relating to each other in interesting ways. We used sweeping, curved plinths to unite these groups, whilst the graphics showcase the artists individually, accompanied by printed guides instead of invasive labels.’ Artwork by Louise Bourgeois © The Easton Foundation Artwork by Eva Hesse © The Estate of Eva Hesse. Final week to catch ‘Heightened Lyric’ by Raymond Antrobus @barbicancentre , part of ‘Feel of Sound’ 🪁🤍 A pleasure to create and sew the fabric patterns for each unique kite form in collaboration with @solvedworkshop , who crafted the structures to fly high above the lakeside. Each of the seven kites brings his poetry to life through British Sign Language visualised in motion. Don’t miss!

After months of planning and testing, Bubbles of Serenity, by @luhardcastle , is now launched at @greenwich.peninsula and @designdistrictlondon for the winter period. It has been great to be working with Lucy Hardcastle Studio again. Bubbles of Serenity showcases their characteristic experimentation on a huge scale, incorporating LED screens, light projection and augmented reality, static artwork and audio. The work presents a series of digital landscapes that engage with the building facades of the Design District through creating an interactive, multi-sensory experience and depicting an infinite daydream within Hardcastle’s world. Link in @luhardcastle bio to register for upcoming events to celebrate the installation launch - on December 13th @luhardcastle and @baesianz  will be hosting ‘A Spotlight on Digital Design’, an evening of events in collaboration with nowgallery including panels and workshops by @lawrencelek  @natalieliiu  and @zaibajabbar .
