We had the pleasure last night of attending the private view of Abstract Erotic at The Courtauld, exploring sculptures of Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse and Alice Adams, all who were working in New York in the 60’s.
Beautifully designed by @nissenrichardsstudio and lit by @studiozna . Thanks again to our friends @simple__works for engineering a cantilevered canopy for three of the sculptures to hang from.
‘A Heightened Lyric’ is the installation by poet & author @raymond_antrobus as part of the ‘Feel The Sound’ exhibition on @barbicancentre
The 7 kites sited on the lakeside terrace, carry British Sign Language interpretations of poems exploring sound and its absence.
Solved worked closely with Raymond & team on developing the design from early concept and we installed in the sunshine a few weeks ago. Special thanks to our friends @simple__works for another brilliant collab and all their engineering input to get the kits flying high and @a_s_upholstery for doing a stellar job at producing the fabric pattern for each kite to beautifully fit the bespoke metalwork.

Next year we will get around to sharing some of the projects we completed this year but for now one from Solved’s Xmas drinks, where we got to say thanks to some of talented people we work with to make our projects happen! 🙏
Solved turned 1 last week 🎉 and it’s been a whirlwind first year in business!
We’re currently very busy fabricating some bespoke metalwork for a very exciting project we’ll be able to share more about next year. So for now, a pic of testing a new set of metal stamps so our part labels will be visible post powdecoat
A stack of sheets might not make the most exciting visual, but this is the first sheet delivery to our new workshop in Deptford so we thought that was worth a mention.
This Forex & MDF will become a set of showcases for an exciting temporary exhibition we are working on and we can’t wait to settle in to fabricating some lovely things in our new home!
It’s been a very busy first three months of Solved Workshop’s life and we’ve got an exciting start to 2024 to look forward to, with some brilliant project lined up that we’ll be able to share more details about next year!
Wishing our new followers, new clients and old friends a fabulous festive break. Here’s a snap from Solved’s first Christmas outing @boroughmarket eve of Cheese, enjoying gorgonzola and honey cones. We highly recommend!!
A couple of weeks ago Solved assisted the National Theatre in installing the setworks for The Linbury Prize for Stage Design 2023. The prize champions emerging designers and helps launch careers in stage design and theatre.
If you’re visiting the National Theatre over the Christmas break, stop by and have a look at the prize winning work from the 12 recipients of this year’s award!
