The focus was on collective practices of production and a joint, experimental discovery of textile techniques against the backdrop of an ecologically and socially sustainable, as well as innovative, handling of textiles and fashion. Impressions of the beading encounter Ofrendas al infinito (Offerings to the Infinite), held at @kunstimtunnel in summer 2024. Together, we created small pieces while reflecting on the symbolic meanings of beads and beading as practices of memory and identity, and their entanglement with colonial trade histories. Each participant could decide whether to arrange their piece as part of the floor installation, or take it home with them, allowing the work to extend beyond the museum space. An expanding constellation of shared gestures and offerings. The exhibition focuses on the Rhine as a living organism and makes it tangible as a place of remembrance, resistance, and movement. Grief appears as a flowing, transforming force that shapes social and ecological processes. Myths and narratives surrounding water are re-read from decolonial and feminist perspectives. Last month, @sofiamagdits and I took @textile_stories_archive to Düsseldorf to create + exhibit the works by @isabelsinstants and @lienebosque at @koex__ev , making it @kiosk.chi ’s first programming abroad 🌎 In a two-day workshop, local participants created the objects with instructions provided by Isabel and Liene, which were exhibit until November 30. We wanted to thank the artists for their trust and support, and every participant for their time and effort. Textile Stories has been an ongoing project since 2022. We’re excited where our next exhibition will take us 🌀

Die Ausstellung rückt den Rhein als lebendigen Organismus in den Mittelpunkt und macht ihn als Ort des Erinnerns, der Widerständigkeit und der Bewegung erfahrbar. Trauer erscheint als fließende, transformierende Kraft, die gesellschaftliche und ökologische Prozesse prägt. Mythen und Narrative rund um Wasser werden aus dekolonialen und feministischen Perspektiven neu gelesen. Die Ausstellung und die Veranstaltungen werden im Rahmen von c/o Q18 von Joanne Rodriguez @joanneselinar und Nada Rosa @_nada_rosa_ kuratiert.
