How much space does one occupy in a conversation? How is speaking time distributed between people read as female and people read as male, and what impact does this have on the visibility and perception of women? In the performance, these questions are explored through dance, along with the permission to consciously take up space.

The Perfomance deals with the feeling of desire, a feeling that’s omnipresent in queer life. We often define ourselves in regards to our desire, that’s often sanctioned by the society we live in. We crave physical intimacy, belonging, social visibility and more. We orient ourselves after models set out by others and rarely get to express the individual aspects of our desires. At the same time, we live in a tension between societal exclusion and the simultaneous desire by society to appropriate queer culture for capitalist ends. As long as there are trends to feed upon, queer culture is part of the self-marketing of brands, industries and public institutions, to show that they are able to cater to contemporary trends. However, queer culture often was happening in secluded spaces - in clubs, parks, in the bedroom. The performance deals with those polyvalent aspects of desires.
