I am beyond humbled and deeply grateful to be named the USRowing @usrowing Man of the Year by the board and at the incredible @hocr1965 This recognition means so much, and it would not have been possible without the incredible support of USRowing and the board. Thank you for this honor—it’s a reflection of the countless coaches, athletes, and mentors who have inspired me along the way. To be part of this amazing community is truly a privilege, and I am continuously inspired by the dedication, hard work, and passion that everyone brings to our sport; especially the athletes that believed and trusted in me and the project and are the ones that put me here today. Just back from the 5th edition of Copa America in Lima, Peru. An emotional experience not only because of the results, but because of the incredible athletes who represent @nextlevelrowing and @usrowing , they really deserve everything. What stands out even more is the lifestyle we share, the energy, camaraderie, friendship, and genuine connection within the team, and with athletes, staff, referees, and the entire beach sprints and coastal rowing community. SuperTeam 🩵 I want to take a moment to tell you how proud I am of each and every one of you after this incredible week together in Cartagena. This camp was so much more than training sessions, early mornings, waves, sprints, and kilometers on the water carrying boats. It was a week of commitment, growth, and connection — where I had the privilege of spending real time with you, not only as athletes. Moments like these remind me why we do what we do. Watching you train, push through fatigue, support each other, laugh together, and chase excellence every single day filled me with pride. Your attitude, your discipline, and your passion for the sport make coaching not just a job, but a dream I get to live every day. Every time another coach or athlete stopped to recognize how amazing you are, I had tears of joy — so thankful for having you in my life. NLR is more than a team. It is a family. And you are the reason every session feels meaningful, every challenge worth it, and every success shared. Week Three — European Coastal Championships, Turkey What a week of racing in Turkey representing Team USA @usrowing at the European Coastal Championships. As a non-European country, we are deeply grateful to World Rowing @worldrowingofficial for giving us the opportunity to compete and measure ourselves among the best. What an unforgettable weekend at the HOCR Beach Sprint Regatta @hocr1965 . This event was a dream come true—expertly hosted by HOCR, with the incredible support of @usrowing and @filippi_coastal_boats @filippi_coastal_boats_usa . I had the privilege of coaching both the USA and NLR @nextlevelrowing athletes, and they delivered outstanding performances on the sand and water. But more than medals and results, what truly made this event special was the energy, the spirit, and the pure joy of beach sprint. This was the opportunity that we had to share the love for this sport with so many new athletes; thanks for joining us this past weekend. This was the largest beach sprint event ever held in the U.S., and it’s only the beginning. I’m deeply moved and proud of what we achieved together; thanks to all the athletes, volunteers, referees and staff that made it possible. The USA Beach Sprint Development Camp was an incredible experience. I had the honor of coaching an exceptional group of athletes—both USA experienced coastal rowers and USA flat water racers new to the beach sprint format. Over the course of the camp, these athletes committed themselves fully, working together with grit and determination. Their progress was impressive, and the results at the US Trials proved just how far they had come. Camp athletes placed at the top of time trials across all events, advanced to semifinals, and ultimately secured every spot on the USA Beach Sprint National Team. What a regatta’s at Copa America IV in Lima, Peru. First, grateful to this incredible SuperTeam for helping me rediscover how much I love this sport, the community and the team @nextlevelrowing . After a tough end of the season last year, I found my passion and the love for the sport again. I see more clear than ever what I want and what we need. We crushed it at the Beach Sprints with 🥇 and🥈 in the CM1x with @chris_bak1 and @malachi__anderson , and 🥇 in the CW1x with @cavalala . In the Endurance races, we brought home 🥈 in the CW4x with @peterchoi17 @lizhinley @carastawicki @ophelia.weiss07 and @llaurellk and 🥉 in the CMix4x with @peterchoi17 @cavalala @chris_bak1 @llaurellk @rrrusty101 We also conquered the 23 km race from La Punta to Chorrillos, taking 🥈 in the CW4x with @peterchoi17 @lizhinley @ophelia.weiss07 @llaurellk and the Super @fernandanunesoly from 🇧🇷 @remobrasil Huge thanks to Club Regatas Lima @clubderegataslima , the volunteers, and referees for organizing an amazing event.
