Research trip last year to @hancockshakervillage in preparation for our upcoming exhibition „The Shakers: A World in the Making“ @vitradesignmuseum together with @milwaukeeart@icaphiladelphia@wuestenrotstiftung and @shakermuseum #vdmshaker
These photos were taken at the Brick Dwelling. Many of the communal Shaker spaces include built-in furniture to avoid clutter, as well as large benches and tables to accommodate groups of Shaker Sisters and Brothers. Villages also had infirmaries to care for their members.
Travelling through Lanzarote last month, I visited some of the beautiful spaces created by artist César Manrique whose work permeates the island. Photos of the César Manrique Foundation (1968), Jameos del Agua (1968) and LagOmar (1970s) #cesarmanrique #architecture
It’s been a pleasure to present the @vitradesignmuseum exhibitions programme at this year’s #muscon conference in Lisbon. A special thanks to @maatmuseum and @mudemuseu for hosting us during four inspiring days filled with presentations, talks, exhibition visits, and great conversations with colleagues from around the world.
Water-Lucidity — Mea Hoffmann (@meahoffmann ) — Water’s clarity goes beyond purity; it embodies transparency, truth, and the imperative for fair water governance. Amid global inequities, where millions still lack access to clean water, it asks us to rethink management, balancing human use with ecological restoration. A call to envision water not just as resource, but as a shared, living commons.
