My podcast recording with @johnpawson for @est_living earlier this week allowed me to research not only the best known work but also some of those that are lesser known. Shown here is the Wooden Chapel in Unterliezheim, Germany (2017-18) created to resemble a pile of logs - a sculpture in the forest of over seven metres high and nearly nine long. Salmon not quite fitting in the Aga. Could be the cover of an Irish cook book from 1940. Preparation for Dad’s 90th birthday celebration alongside classics such as Boeuf Bourguignon and Baked Alaska. None of which was my doing - I washed up. @eejit101 @saramccartney941

A limited, collectable print edition. To celebrate our diamond jubilee, Issue 60 becomes est living’s first official print edition after fifteen years of digital publishing. The edition brings together some of the world’s most recognised voices who have shaped the platform’s evolution — including our inaugural Hall of Fame recipients Vincent Van Duysen, John Pawson, Faye Toogood, Norm Architects and Vincenzo De Cotiis — alongside the esteemed 10 for 2026: Australia’s most influential residential architects and designers, as well as global multidisciplinary designers working across interiors, spatial and product design. Beyond these exclusive conversations, the issue explores Design Instinct inside six exceptional homes, outside with garden editor Will Dangar’s latest interview, and on our podcast episode with Flack Studio founder and principal David Flack. Secure your copy – link in bio. It isn’t everyday you take delivery of a mid-section of an earthworm. Made as part of a Depression-era initiative the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in Illinois often employed out of work artists to create scientific and biological models. This extraordinary specimen has come my way via @lost_profile_gallery - with Ollie and Simon bringing it back from Chicago - many years ago - in their hand luggage. I am very grateful to be the new owner and @designdaily is gradually coming around to that way of thinking.

I wish I had got better photos of the stand of @doncameron.studio because it illustrated - so well - his instinctive mix of antique, vintage, art and his own designs. Showing a series of small but powerful works by artist @hendrikduijn the stand is one of the best curated at @futureobjekt @melbourneartfair If you don’t know Don do take this opportunity to say hello and see his work.

Award for best VIP lounge EVER @melbourneartfair by @broached_commissions Creating all that natural beauty in a commercial space with flowers grown from seeds (starting last October by @hattiemolloy ) bring joy and surprise. Congratulations to all involved in a concept that spans women’s botanical drawing (18th century ?) to contemporary digital art. Thank you @est_living for organising the tour.

@futureobjekt showing as a section of @melbourneartfair featured - at its heart - the @oigall_projects stand. Shown here is a Henry Wilson @studiohenrywilson wall relief and @acvstudio Love Chair, next up the Brud Studia’s spectacular Fotel chair and the Styk aluminium tables. @brud.studia The art fair continues over the weekend at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Worth the visit on so many levels.

Thank you @simonleah for the tour of @lost_profile_gallery designed in collaboration with @nicholasgurtler . The space is magical inside - as are the lights, paintings, furniture and artefacts (the earthworm sculpture is definitely mine) while the outside (last image) by @d.r.e.z is a beautifully nuanced series of colours in geometric forms.
