We are proud to be participating in the inaugural FUTUREOBJEKT a Collectible Design Salon within Melbourne Art Fair. Looking forward to welcoming you to Booth E13 for a sharp selection of Historic Design, Translations Works by Don Cameron, and Paintings By Henk Duijn.
@doncameron.studio ’s design works stem from a series of photographs, twenty years in the making, of dense, abandoned concrete architecture. In 2020, he presented 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯, an exhibition with @gallerysallydancuthbert showcasing a selection of these works. Two years later, he returned to the gallery with 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, a series of eight furniture and lighting objects designed in response to the previous show.
While the patina of his coffee table, 𝘖𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦, nods to the weathered surfaces of those forgotten structures, and his 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘤 sofas echo their monumental forms, his designs ultimately work to translate atmosphere, from one medium to another; building to photo to object. In doing so, design, architecture and sculpture blur into one another.
Don Cameron will exhibit at Melbourne Art Fair as part of @futureobjekt , the Fair’s inaugural collectible design salon.
