Hello! The dood and I have a very special event planned this Saturday at Platform 9 featuring one of the finest house selectors on planet earth -> Brawther. Recently I asked Prosumer (also one of the finest house dj’s in this dimension) who he had heard recently that stood out to him, and Brawther was the first person he mentioned, HIGH PRAISE INDEED. Anywho, @basscoastfest has joined forces with us on this one, and should you attend you will be entered in a draw to win tickets for this years event which features so many of my faves including KINK, D. Bass Coast is back with a second Pre-Party stop in Vancouver, this time in collaboration with @full.house_yvr for some deep, punchy house music all night long. Headlining the night is Brawther, co-founder of the respected label and production partnership, Dungeon Meat, which has released music from the likes of Honey Dijon, Sweely and the Tripmasterz. As a humble ambassador of the underground scene, Brawther quietly continues to connect with audiences, one DJ set at a time. Bass Coast Alumni and creators of the Full House events series, Max Ulis and DJ dood are on support duties. Full House has featured artists like Prosumer, Nat Wendell, and Daniel Bell and is becoming a local house party staple. The house is open and you’re invited! Public Disco returns to @city_centre_artist_lodge for another summer on our favourite Main Street dance floor. Headlining sets from Musclecars (NYC) and DJ Heather (CHI), with local support from Luke McKeehan and Lerma. Musclecars are the NYC duo of Brandon Weems and Craig Handfield. Known for blending house, disco, jazz, and soul, they launched @coloringlessons to bring New York’s dance music scene back to its golden era. DJ Heather has been a fixture in Chicago’s house music scene for decades, known for her versatility across house, jazz, soul, hip hop and rare groove. She played a surprise set at our very first event at Jim Deva Plaza back in 2017, and we’re glad to finally have her back properly. Thanks to everyone that made our last event with The Mole and DDE a hit! We’re back April 24 with a big fave of ours from Mexico, Sunday Sunday resident Soos, with opening support from local rising star Hera. We first heard Soos play at a Slab event in 2022 that also featured Or:la and we were totally blown away. We have been looking for an opportunity to have them back, so here it is! Soos is a DJ and producer from Mexico City that has been pushing a zany approach to dance music for over 17 years. Via his studio work, the D.F. born producer traverses the musical universes of 1990’s and 2000’s nostalgia by re-contextualizing the retro sonic shades of latin club music, balearic-influenced soundscapes, and downtempo techno – landing him releases in acclaimed record labels like Japan’s Mule Music.
