I had the privilege to be invited at @soundscapes.bh festival in Zanzibar just over a month ago and was given the duty to close the main stage from 5 am til 8:15 on the second day. While i don’t have much footage of the beginning when it was still night (starting with a more hypnotic typa vibe) here’s some of moments when the sun was rising over us. It was a special morning where i got to play proper true school deep house to a patient and captivated crowd. I was blessed with the weather as well which overall contributed to my favourite morning dj set to date ( i doubt it will ever be surpassed!). In all honesty, i’m getting tired of bangin’ it out these days and i’m increasingly drawn to my roots of deep house… there’s a few spots like @heidegluehen_official where i can be 200% myself all the way and you can now add the wonderful Soundscapes. Not only do they care about sound with fantasically tuned systems (and the new jamaicain custom system in the Oasis stage), the setting and support of the local economy in Zanzibar, but the crowd, mainly from the middle east, is appreciative of proper house and the vibe is very friendly and relaxed. It’s a bowl of fresh air, being used to the constant western men-heavy “big tune”-hungry crowds. It doesn’t get better than this and i would like thank all my wonderful friends , old and new, as well as all the team, that made this an experience i shall treasure for ever. Bass Coast is back with a second Pre-Party stop in Vancouver, this time in collaboration with @full.house_yvr for some deep, punchy house music all night long. Headlining the night is Brawther, co-founder of the respected label and production partnership, Dungeon Meat, which has released music from the likes of Honey Dijon, Sweely and the Tripmasterz. As a humble ambassador of the underground scene, Brawther quietly continues to connect with audiences, one DJ set at a time. Bass Coast Alumni and creators of the Full House events series, Max Ulis and DJ dood are on support duties. >legendary dj Grace Sands has long been a huge influence on Brawther. on 28th february, Dungeon Meat invite one of their inspirations and close friends to bring down the walls in the loft. as a founding member of the infamous DIY Sound System, Grace helped introduce the true sound of deep house through the free party movement in the early 90s. this will be an iconic set from a real artist and important contributor to the fabric of house music. don’t miss out<
