The paper boys! Loved writing this portfolio of stylish men working in publishing today for this weekend’s @fthtsi . I visited Jonah Freud at @referencepoint180 where with @sophiadowsonc he has curated a beautiful library of rare art and photography books that also doubles up as a dance floor. (“If you can come in here and snog someone then suddenly that space doesn’t feel scary anymore,” he told me). Had such a fun time interviewing the actor @havanaroseliu for the May digital cover of @arabbitsfoot ! Truly an honour and a privilege to speak to one of my favourite writers, Siri Hustvedt, about her beautiful new memoir Ghost Stories, which documents the year following the death of her husband, Paul Auster. It was wonderful to interview Oscar-winning director Chloe Zhao in the FT Weekend about her upcoming adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet. With a backdrop of ambient music and the waft of essential oils, we discussed the guided meditation she opened the premiere with at Telluride, her early encounters with Shakespeare as a high school student in Los Angeles, working with Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, dealing with fandoms and parental grief. @ft_weekend

The Tuscan monastery of the British sculptor Emily Young, who I visited in July and profiled in the ‘Sanctuary’ issue of @arabbitsfoot (with wonderful photography by @issycarr_ ). At the centre of her home is a chapel whose roof caved in 1928, meaning most of its vaulted arches have been replaced by a panorama of sky. Young told me that if you sit still for long enough, you can see the stars moving: “They arrive from one side, and on the other they disappear because of the turning of the planet… It’s deep time you are looking at. It’s such a thrill if you can get there.” Interview online now
