A big thank you… Nearly six months ago I took a leap and bet on myself. I bet that the outdoor industry is as strong as ever, and there’s room to make a good and fulfilling career of it in various ways. The @longrunlabs collective is rolling along, helping to professionalize 20 podcasts in the running space with strong brand partnerships. We’ve done deals with brands like @tailwindnutrition , @boulderthon , @trainingpeaks , @amazfit.us and more. It has been really fun to use my brand partnership and sales skills to help other hosts and creators that we all love! Through my own brand partnerships with @forthelrpod , I’ve been able to partner with many brands I use and love, and that’s only possible thanks to all of your support for and with those brands. I thought it’d be helpful to share who those brands are, and the discounts available to y’all that make it all possible: 👟: @pumarunning , go to your local run store! 👕: @runjanji , 10% off with FTLR 😎: @tifosioptics , 20% off with FTLR2026 🎧: @shokzusa , 10% off with FTLR ⌚️: @amazfit.us , 10% off with FTLR ⛽️: @tailwindnutrition , 20% off with FTLR20 and @skratchlabs , 20% off with FTLRPOD 🏃: @boulderthon , 10% off in 2026 with FTLR2026 💪: @joineternal , now offering PCP coverage in NY/CA! 🏔️: @visitleadville , where it’s always a great time to visit 🚙: @emichvwofboulder , EV or not, they’ll take care of you in Boulder! I only partner with brands that I think you’ll love too, and I’m proud of this support!

“Takin’ on a [marathon] is a lot like riding a horse. If you’re comfortable while you’re doin’ it, you’re probably doin’ it wrong.” What a day. We ran a pretty fantastic 15+ miles before a hamstring/nerve issue, and then had a pretty fantastically fun next 8 while walking/running/drinking beers, before picking it back up in the last two. Really, really proud of @katew_d . The day didn’t go the way she imagined, and after a little pity party (these are important too), we rallied and nailed the A goal of HAVE SO MUCH FUN. What’s cool about the marathon is that each time you do one, it surprises and teaches you something new. Kate, I hope this one taught you that you CAN do it and you can run the remaining 11 miles we didn’t run today at that 7:17 pace that we ran the first 15 at. 😝 Onwards. 📸: @kelseyhunter , a stranger at the finish line, and @tonywithasony

So many ambitious people spend their lives staring at the horizon, focused on where they are not yet instead of recognizing how far they’ve already come. This conversation with Christian Rawles puts words to something a lot of people feel but struggle to explain, especially founders, athletes, and high performers who are constantly chasing the next thing. The “gap vs. gain” idea completely reframes progress in a way that feels a lot healthier and honestly a lot more sustainable long term. Full episode is live on Long Run Labs.

Runners get really good at convincing themselves they’re probably fine. A little more tired than usual. A few weird workouts. Lingering soreness. Stomach issues that keep popping up. Most people keep training through it because they’re still functioning, still showing up, still technically healthy… until eventually something forces them to stop. Dr. Teddy Bross talks about that reality so honestly in this episode and why the current healthcare system can feel incredibly hard to navigate for endurance athletes who live somewhere between “totally healthy” and “something is definitely off.” Loved this conversation with Teddy about athlete health, recovery, low energy availability, ferritin, and what it actually looks like to support runners long term. 🎧 Full episode on For The Long Run.

Most brands talk about performance like their product is going to completely change your life. What stood out in this conversation with Doug Waters was how honest his approach was. He’s not trying to convince people that a shirt magically solves heat, fatigue, or bad decision making. He’s building products around the idea that small improvements actually matter when you’re spending long hours outside in difficult conditions. A few degrees cooler. A little more comfortable. A little safer. That’s the goal. Full episode is live on Long Run Labs.

This part of the conversation with Joe Corcione hit hard because it applies to way more than running. We spend so much time obsessing over the race, the finish line, the big moment, but those moments are tiny compared to everything that comes before them. Most of life is the work leading up to the thing. The training blocks. The routines. The random Tuesday mornings nobody sees. The process of becoming someone capable of doing what once felt impossible. Joe talks about that so well in this episode of For The Long Run, especially the idea that your goals should actually make you excited to live the life required to chase them. 🎧 Full episode with Joe Corcione on For The Long Run.
