Back in 2021 I was asked by a friend to help her co-write a feature film script she was developing. I was in a bar with some friends in Huddersfield while I took the phone call outside. I went back inside to my friends and said, “Guys, I think I’m co-writing a film.” 4 years later and I cannot be more pleased with the hard work that myself and Calif have put into writing this story, and incredibly proud of her for directing it from script to screen, and all that she has persevered through the journey. Huge love to all the cast and crew that put so much of their commitment to bringing the story of Go-Wing, the British Chinese diaspora and the story of how we can all work hard to achieve the impossible. ‘High Wire’ will be screened as part of the 69th BFI London FIlm Festival 2025 as part of the Journey strand of their programme, and screenings will be on 15th & 17th October. Summers gone, but our love of summer treats shouldn't! Throwback to this lovely, and for me probably one of the strangest, commercial I appeared in for @littlemoonsmochi last year. @magna.studios were a great crew to work with and filming with @emmaftracey was great fun (not many people have made me cry with laughter on set. I'm usually very pro). S/o to @emmajaynecakedesign who created the life size version of me. The fact that she deliberately made it less lifelike to make it obvious it wasn't me is astounding and is a testament to her amazing skills. Yes, over a year late posting this. Better late than never. 🙃

After what feels like a lifetime of work and emotional days and nights, I am over the moon to announce, my debut feature film - “High Wire”, is selected for the 69th BFI London Film Festival! Making a feature film as indie filmmakers is definitely a test of perseverance, endurance and patience. Without the people who believed in the story from Day 0 and boarded this tiny, wobbly boat with me, this story wouldn’t have sailed through the tsunami and tornado that came our way, and made it to the beautiful island on the other end. Most importantly, we fulfilled our mission to bring the under-told stories of British Hong Kong working class immigrant families, as well as the modern circus’ life, to the eyes of audiences. To me, this is also a true story of modern British society, it is an intersecting point of people from all shades of lives - it is a multicultural story, not a singular one. Enormous THANK YOU to all the superhuman Cast and Crew, each of you has walked through a different part of the journey with me. You don’t know how much I am grateful for everyone of you x As they always say in the circus, “Professionals never bring their emotion on the wire.” Now going to the World Premiere of HIGH WIRE on 15th October 2025 at BFI Southbank, I will leave my emotions on the floor, but with lots of excitement (and some anxiety), meeting the audience’ eyes for the first time.
