Utter joy to meet and be in the room with the fantastic @holly_renaut yesterday. A huge difference working solidly for a few hours on the General American accent, being able to watch and listen close up to all the exercises, working on a script and with other actors. Holly is such a lovely, warm person, hugely experienced and engaging. Thank you! Xx
#VoidDays film is now available to watch on @filmhubnorth ‘s website. It hits quite a personal note for me. Hope you like it.

Newly minted member of @the_rhs and spent a glorious afternoon at @rhswisley - a lot of change since I was there 30 years ago. Lots of ideas and inspiration- bought a few things…
Wisteria and rhododendrons not to be missed right now.

A peaceful few days in #Geneva seeing out 2025. It’s been a busy year with so many highs and one particularly sad low. Wishing all a balanced, kind and hopeful year ahead.
1. - 3. #unamericainenparis #grandtheatredegeneve So thrilled to watch this show - the direction by @wheeldony is so detailed, the storytelling in the overture alone is worth the price of the ticket. A dream to be able to watch @robbiefairchild reprise his role - never thought I would have the chance. Gorgeous performances all round, @annaroseosullivan just stunning. Also, how stunning is the grand salon?
4. & 5. Obligatory visit to #CERN - mostly good for families but interesting to visit and totally free. Very busy.
6. Part of Geneva Old Town, still lit up with Christmas lights - it’s not as steep as expected climbing up there and it is very charming.
7. Halle de Rive market - a bijou market (worth visiting though we spent too much). The pies are so beautifully crafted,
8. The famous #jetdeaudegenève - the weather was perfect but chilly. Geneva was at its best today.
9. The view of the Alps as we came in to land, flying over Lake Geneva.
10. United Nations building with the broken chair sculpture and a hapless tourist who was standing there for a looonggg time
11. Goodbye 2025 - these little message cobbles were embedded in one of the squares under a gateway in different languages.
It’s been over 20 years since I was last in Switzerland. It’s eyewateringly expensive to eat out in Geneva, so we’ve made our own breakfast, brought a travel kettle with us and shopped in Coop quite a bit. When we have eaten out, portions have been decent and quality good. Free WiFi in most places comes with a hidden catch - you have to register with a code sent by SMS which means you get charged by your U.K. provider to receive them 🤦🏻♀️ Don’t know who came up with that shonky idea. On the bright side, you get completely free transport in the Geneva canton if you are staying in registered accommodation.
On the whole, it’s been a lovely few days in Geneva which is compact, beautiful and easy to get around. Could certainly spend more time here, would’ve been great to take a trip up some mountains.
A weekend in Amsterdam, eating unnecessarily unhealthy food, seeing my bestie @janey_b74 , watching my favourite musician and hanging out with the hubby. Excellent way to spend a few days.
1. Ridiculously expensive fresh stroopwafel from Bakkerij Hans Egstorf but it was possibly the last one I’ll have this lifetime
2. Somewhere atmospherically lit in Jordaan
3. Protest banner, an ongoing theme during our stay
4. Just a cat on a street sign
5. Protest exhibit at @stedelijkmuseum . An excellent gallery though makes me appreciate the free entry into galleries / museums in the UK much more.
6. Part of the same exhibit
7. My bestie Jane rehearsing for Avenue Q. Fab cast. Very proud.
8. A very cold canal tour - private because it appears we are the only foul weather tourists in Amsterdam. That’s my hot tip - take a boat when there’s hail and freezing wind, if you shun other people. The crew were very cheery, despite the abominable weather and we were fortified with hot tea. Thanks @boatamsterdam !
9. The excellent @tommcraemusic at @tolhuistuin . Took Janey along for the first time - still trying to make this thing grow, Tom!
10. Beef pho - really needed this to be able to feel my extremities again. It’s such a far cry from 25 odd years ago - finding really good SE Asian food in Europe (and yes, I mean the UK too).
11. More unnecessarily unhealthy food - cheesy parmesan fries with spicy mayo from @fabelfriet - fast food with the frisson of scavenger seagulls waiting to swoop down and nab them off your wooden chip fork
12. But it was freezing, and everyone had them, and look at the queue…
Such a lot of care went into this show. For one scene, tried about a dozen different outfits and loved the beautiful hairstyle by the lovely @kaleenamj
Had such a great time on set with a fantastic team. #talamasca is out now on #amc
Wearing two hats this weekend for @moonfestofficial #bristol in #sparksbristol on Saturday 4 October from 12.30-17.30. Excited to have the first UK public screening of @sandrasencindiver ‘s Robert Prisen nominated short film #seekinghwasun at Moon Fest Bristol, followed by a Q&A between organiser extraordinaire, @monicawat7 , and yours truly. Steve and I will also be selling mooncakes 🥮 (of course) and tasty Malaysian food as @5footway
