We are from North West London — now stepping into the field at Halls Green. 🪱🌱🪱🌱🪱🌱🪱🌱🪱🌱🪱🌱🪱🌱 For over a decade, Granville Community Kitchen (GCK) has worked with the South Kilburn community, sharing affordable, culturally appropriate organic food, creating opportunities for food-related work and learning, and hosting community-led events. Through this work, we’ve seen how the dominant industrial food system, and the growing distance between people and the land, shape our diets, health, identities, and our relationship with nature. Many people are disconnected from where food comes from, from the soil it grows in, and from the ecosystems that sustain life. The Farm Hub exists to change that. 🐞🍅🐞🥦🐞🥒🐞🍓🐞🍄 Our vision is what we call Good Food Ecologies — reimagining the food system so that people, land, and all living beings can thrive together. This means not only good food in the city, but also long-term opportunities for urban communities to reconnect with land, nature, and rural environments, and to find a place there. At the same time, we hope those living in rural settings will feel equally welcome and at home in the ultra-urban spaces of the city. This journey is only just beginning, and we warmly invite you to be part of it. ✨✨ Film & edit by @dhelia____ Original score and sound design by @Rui Da Silva

Hello new friends and old friends, and happy New Year! 🎊 Thank you for being here with us. We hope you’re feeling as excited as we are about our new farm project. 2025 has been a big year. We moved from a dream to a reality. We secured 27 acres of land with Cherries, a farming family in Hertfordshire, and began planning the site. Now we’re fully in it, building our community farm. In 2026, we’ll focus on planning, design, and on-site building. Please keep following along and get in touch if you’d like to be involved in different ways.

Codesign our Granville Community Farm Hub! 🧱Over the past few months, we’ve been running co-design workshops with architect Sib Trigg to imagine the future of Granville Community Farm Hub together. As a community-centred space, we want the people who will use the Farm Hub to help shape it from the very beginning. Through role-playing exercises and group discussions, the farm team and steering group explored what a typical day at the farm could look like for different people, from where they might go to what kinds of spaces, facilities, and support they might need. Together, we also began identifying the opportunities, constraints, and key priorities for the site’s early development. These workshops were an important first step in building a shared vision for the Farm Hub and imagining what this space could become for the community 💚 👂Please tell us what would your ideal day at Granville Community Farm Hub look like? #agrecologicalfarming #foodgrowing #farmhub #transformativefoodsystems

HAPPY 🌍 DAY Celebrating with this poignant clip featuring the wonderful @osunschild in our film, Six Inches of Soil. We filmed Dee at a project she co founded, @grancomkitchen . There they are reimagining our food system, co-creating a community of abundance, healing and resilience with eaters, farmers and food producers, chefs and food businesses, community organisations, academics and researchers. They call this vision of the future Good Food Ecologies model. Deidre ‘Dee’ Woods is an award-winning cook, community food educator, urban agriculturalist, broadcaster, and researcher, with over 25 years’ experience of working in diverse communities. “Food poverty is a misnomer. The issue is poverty. We have high levels of destitution in the UK, yet we have more than enough food here. It doesn’t help that a large percentage of it is wasted and we only redistribute a very small amount.” Dee Woods (from Wicked Leeks I/v) 🌱 Excitingly they are about to embark on the @granville_farmhub and we look forward to seeing this grow. 📺 If you want to hear more from Dee then do enjoy watching Six Inches of Soil at home: - Apple - Amazon - YouTube movies Or organise a community screening Links in bio or via /

🌍💚 Happy Earth Day 💚🌍 Save the Rec — Protect our green space Last Saturday, the Brent Green Party @brentgreenparty joined Save the Rec Day, standing in solidarity with the Granville Rec community garden. Our co-founder, Leslie Barson, delivered a powerful speech on the urgent challenges facing the garden and how this struggle connects to the wider regeneration across South Kilburn. “This space isn‘t just a designated construction ‘lot’, it is a biodiverse oasis, a food source, and the last green lung in the South Kilburn regeneration area.” — Leslie Barson We’re grateful to the Brent Green Party for being an important part of this campaign, and for documenting and amplifying Leslie’s words. 🎥 Speech video by Martin Francis Read the full article below ⬇️ /p/saving-granville?r=17pn8m&utm_medium=ios&triedRedirect=true 🔗 Watch the full speech via the link in our bio. #savetherec #nationaldayofaction #southkilburn #skcommunity #earthday
