@hypebeast and @hypebeastmag : Jester. Architect. Enfant terrible. Whatever you want to call him — Slawn doesn’t care. He’s too busy hijacking Saachi Yates for a weeks-long residency, tagging every canvas he gets his hands on alongside graffiti MVP @opake_art , and plotting his next art tour in Japan. @olaoluslawn isn’t just London’s most provocative artist. He’s a global iconoclast, full stop. Check out the full Hypebeast Magazine cover story via the link in bio. Available now for pre-order on @hbx . Art week is an endurance test and @esther.newyork wants to slow things down. Co-founded by gallerists Margot Samel of @margotsamel.nyc and @temnikovakaselagallery ’s Olga Temnikova, the indie fair doesn’t dream of being the next power player so much as bring as back to the simple pleasures of discovery, trading competition for collaboration in a thoughtful 22-gallery showcase. Staged in Estonian House, the 19th-century Beaux-Arts gem, crosstown from the Frieze crowd, Esthers has earned a rep as art week’s intimate alternative, bringing forth a new vision for what fair can be. As the indie favorite returns to Estonian House for one final run, Samel and Temnikova reflect on their stylish antidote to mega-fair spectacle. Tap the link in our bio for the full story. Frank (@frankmorrison ) and Tyreek (@moneyteam ) Morrison are bringing a father-son dialogue to @aldayhunkengallery for Future Fair 2026 at Booth U11. The duo exhibition explores what it looks like to pass down a craft while carving out a separate lane, leaning into the tension between inheritance and personal style. Frank’s work is rooted in a heavy, figurative narrative built from years of lived experience, while Tyreek moves into a more atmospheric, suspended register. The installation sees how two different generations process the same social and emotional histories through paint. On view through May 16 at Future Fair on 535 W 28th St in NYC.

@hypebeaststyle : @edruschaofficial x Jonathan Anderson is the link up we didn’t know we needed. Anderson’s first Cruise show was straight out of an old Hollywood film. The collection, titled “Wilshire Boulevard,” christened LACMA’s new Geffen Galleries with none other than Ruscha, a SoCal pop legend. Ruscha gave four tops his signature graphic treatment, tapping into two works, “We the People” (2012) and “Says I, To Myself Says I” (2024). Anderson, who had been wanting to work with Ruscha for some time now, called the experience a “dream come true.” Credit: @dior , jonathan.anderson, @gagosian , @christies

New York Art Week is hitting its peak and @lisayuskavage is unlocking a new side of artistry. At @davidzwirner in Chelsea, the seminal painter presents a layered collection of new and recent works, introducing her first-ever collages in the mix. “There’s a way in which a painting finds grace, a way that everything lands in place,” the artist wrote in a recent essay for Harper’s Bazaar. “There’s this feeling of just elegance, of purpose, and that is beautiful.” Go to hypeart.com to read more. Ibiza’s club scene is seeing a pretty massive shift this summer. Three of the island’s heavyweights, [UNVRS], Hï Ibiza, and Ushuaïa Ibiza, have been partially converted into galleries for a season-long art expo called Culture Collective by @w1curates featuring works by major artists such as Hajime Soraya, VHILS, Gorillaz and more. The exhibition officially launched last weekend with works from over 70 international artists and is running through mid-October 2026. Read more via link in bio. Photos: @w1curates

What we mean when we say “Fashion is Art” Rei Kawakubo and @commedesgarconsnewyork are taking over the Independent Art Fair this week and it’s a heavy moment for New York. While the CDG universe is a staple in the art-fashion dialogue, this marks the first time Kawakubo has ever staged a solo presentation at a New York art fair. It’s a major move for the iconic designer since her 2017 Met exhibition. Read more via link in bio. Video: Keith Estiler, Kyle Reyes for Hypebeast #nyartweek #commedesgarçons

Spencer Vazquez (@spencevaz ) is a New York-based artist turning humble adhesive tape into a memory machine. Faced with the vast, visual archive of his late father, a housepainter, Vazquez uses a toner-on-tape printing method to enhance the thematic concepts and depths in his work, like ephemerality, fragility and the “incidental debris of everyday life.” A trove of the artist’s material meditations are currently on view at @baxterstccny as part of his debut solo, ‘Glue Traps,’ taking shape as a tender exploration of the intangible forces — grief, memory, family — shaping the artist's own ardent aperture. ‘Glue Traps’ is now on view through June 3. Credit: Courtesy of the artist / Baxter St. / YoungArts

Nothing's polite about Nobuyoshi Araki's 2017 series, 'Flower Cemetery,' The Japanese photographer makes bouquets into stages for uncanny assemblages made from flowers and old children's toys, cutting through traditional notions of beauty with a psychological bend. Araki matches his fascination with eroticism with one of death, offering up a raw, macabre reflection on mortality and the fleeting nature of youth in his confessional "I-Photography" style. Selections from 'Flower Cemetery' are now up at @antonkerngallery in a new duet show with and curated by @roeethridge . Read more at the link in our bio. Credit: Courtesy of the artist and Anton Kern Gallery
