Film and Creative Direction for On Me by @bando416 Music Video This one meant a lot. When SAFE asked if we could pull off a video in under a month, I said yes instantly. The first time I heard ‘On Me,’ it made me think about community, friendship, and the people who raise us. It felt like a reflection of everything that shapes you the good, the bittersweet, and what you never really leave behind. We spent an evening in the studio just talking, and the direction formed naturally. I chose to shoot on Super 8 because the song felt like flipping through old memories. I recreated pieces of his past, the boys sharing poutine from Bellissimo's, brothers sparring in the park, and the kite scene symbolizing him leaving the city while still leaving a part of himself behind. In this post, I wanted to share a few pieces of the process, from the BTS moments to the beautiful colour work that brought everything to life. Huge thank you to Helton for locking in for post production with me through those late-night sessions and helping shape the video into exactly what I imagined. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching photography to 47 incredible people. This second year at @shootforpeace_ has been nothing short of a blessing. For 8 months, my Saturdays were filled with love, antics, and endless curiosity. Each of you inspired me with your kindness, talent, humour and drive to grow. All I ever wanted was to make you proud and help you see the light within yourselves, the same light that lit up my year. I’m grateful I got to teach alongside my brother @heltinoo 🙂‍↔️😎, and my sis @lxberih as our right hand, and thank you to my twin @yescene for trusting us with this dream. Though our time as a cohort has ended, you’ll always hold a place in my heart. My door will always be open, and like last year’s group, you’re not really leaving me.
