✨✨PAID RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITY ALERT✨✨ As part of our ABC project we are offering a two-week paid residency opportunity during March 2026 at CMR Project Space. Please note that accommodation is not provided, but studio space is free. The £500 fee covers the development of a project that engages new audiences in Redruth, helping to connect new people with CMR and reach audiences it may not currently engage with. Please email your CV along with:💌 A project proposal (up to 300 words) Your artist statement (up to 250 words) A short statement (up to 200 words) explaining how this project links to your practice ✨✨DEADLINE: 31st January 2026✨✨ Please send all information to [email protected] If you have any questions, feel free to email us. ABC is a collaboration between three Redruth-based, artist-led project spaces: Auction House, Back Lane West, and CMR Project Space. Each organisation brings a distinct approach to contemporary art, united by a shared commitment to supporting artists and fostering critical dialogue. Through exhibitions, workshops, and events hosted in everyday venues - including shops, pubs, cafés, and the local library - ABC seeks to challenge perceptions of contemporary art, making it more open, inclusive, and relevant to a wider audience. The year-long programme began in May 2025 with Back Lane West commissioning Colin Robins’ portrait series celebrating Redruth’s diverse community 'Anthology of Rural Life: Redruth Pictures’ which was later shown at Auction House in May. Since then, ABC has delivered a series of informal interventions across the town including projects by artists Victoria Motika and Millie Tams, alongside a GIF-making workshop led by Rachael Jones at the Oxford Inn, and there’s plenty of activity planned throughout the final 6 of ABC ABC looks to remove the barriers around contemporary art. It’s not about art-speak or exclusivity - it’s about honest, accessible experiences shared with the people of Redruth. @feast_cornwall @auctionhouseart @backlanewest

It’s #VillageHallsWeek with @acre_national ! The Creative Communities team at @creativekernow is celebrating the massive contribution village and community halls make to rural communities in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. From @carntocove performances filling halls with live performance, to @cfylm_cornwall transforming spaces into community cinemas, to @feast_cornwall roadshows and funded projects – village halls are where magic happens. None of this would be possible without the extraordinary volunteers who keep these spaces alive. These village hall heroes give their time and energy so generously to make these community buildings such unique and special places. Join us this week as we celebrate our village hall and community centres, and the people who keep them thriving!

It’s that time of year where we are receiving the last of the end of project evaluations for those who have been awarded grants that were funded or part-funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund. Reflecting back on the past 18 months of this funding, today we’re focusing on the FEAST Festival Enhancement Grant. We’re loving hearing all the fantastic feedback from those Cornish festivals who received FEAST funding to run their community activities and events during their festival. @creativekernow @cornwallcouncil @montol_festival @nansledan.arts.festival @cornwallpride @int_food_festival_for_cornwall
