Flamm x Counterpoints: [Dis]Location Artist Exchange
Flamm and Counterpoints are working together on an artist exchange project to explore the Flamm 2026 theme of [Dis]Location. Facilitated by artist Sovay Berriman, three Flamm artists are paired with three Counterpoints artists, each pair exchanges on their socially engaged work, ideas and interests through a series of conversations in the run up to Flamm 2026 (28th Feb - 1st Mar). These exchanges will be documented and shared online, and the group will come together for a special episode in Sovay’s Meskla Podcast post Festival.
The artist pairs are:
▪︎ Katie Etheridge @smallactsliveart and Boseda Olawoye @bosedaolawoye
▪︎ Rachael Jones @rjonesfilms and Anca Dimofte @dimofte_anca
▪︎ Alice Mahoney @alice_mahoney and Kaajal Modi @casualmouldy
We are also hosting a live event during the festival to highlight the conversations around [Dis]Location, working with Jelena Sofronijevic of Empire Line podcast - watch this space!
Counterpoints and Flamm have been working together since the first edition of the Festival, when the organisations co-commissioned projects as part of Flamm and Counterpoints’ Platforma Festival in South West in 2023. Platforma is a biennial festival moving around the UK, working and networking with local partners on building capacity and showcasing work about displacement, racial and climate justice, and mental health. Flamm and Counterpoints co-commissioned and supported artists working in displacement and climate justice and have continued to work together to champion socially engaged arts practice, support artists through the Festivals’ infrastructures, and sharing learning.
