A bridge is “a structure that creates a path across an obstacle,” and that was the heart of this program: creating space for Oregon filmmakers to make the journey into the industry feel just a little more possible. This partnership between @sundancecollab @portlandeventsandfilmoffice and @oregonfilm created something truly special. POV: I grew up thinking my culture did not belong on Western stages. The only portrayal of Chinese Dance I saw in America were the billboards of one particular troupe with a negative reputation. So I wrote a musical inspired by true events and gathered some of my friends to collaborate on exploring what this could be.
