Here’s a little behind-the-scenes mini documentary about our recent volumetric video shoot for a new collaborative project that brings Martha Graham’s historic solo, “Lamentation,” into conversation with emerging technology. Volumetric video captures a three-dimensional space. This technology will allow our team to develop an interactive installation where audiences can dance with the solo, manipulating and navigating around the video with their own gestures and body movements. This innovative venture offers audiences a fresh perspective on experiencing this classic work in an interactive format in which they can interact with the dance though their own experience of moving.

This AR app contains introductory lectures from the “Black American Literature” course taught by a digital hologram of Dr. Tyechia Thompson, an assistant professor in the Department of English at Virginia Tech.
This course explores some key aesthetics and some aspects of the philosophy and culture of Hip Hop. After each lesson, this course also features quizzes to evaluate knowledge. “The Sources” contains references made by Dr. Tyechia Thompson in this course. These AR lectures adopt new approaches to teaching and learning using immersive media technology.
