In my almost-15 year career as a professional filmmaker, it’s been exceptionally rare to be commissioned to undertake a ‘dream’ project. This documentary I was honored to direct for @fujifilmx_us was exactly that. How else to describe a project set in one of my favorite places on the planet (Tokyo), to be given creative freedom to document the “photographic growth” of a great friend and photographer / teacher Jarrett Esaw, @nocolor_jte , alongside another amazing friend and tirelessly working DP extraordinaire @kevin_cinema featuring one of the world’s photographic masters and long standing ex-@natgeo legends, @samabellteacher . This project wasn’t just about the growth of Jarrett as a photographer and teacher, it was also about legacy, the passing on of knowledge and what that means, and larger life lessons as a whole, and i can say without any doubt, we all grew on this very special assignment. Sam was truly one of the most inspiring and kind figures, generous beyond measure with his time and knowledge. It was an amazing experience to see Jarrett’s growth and hear him talk about what his students at @penumbrafoundation and @icp will gain as a result of his own insight over the course of the project, and to also see a genuine friendship develop between him and Sam. A huge labor of love, i am forever grateful for these miraculous moments where it feels like i am extraordinarily lucky to be living out a small part of the destiny i wished and hoped for as a kid, to tell meaningful stories like these alongside my friends, to document our growth as creatives yes, but to tell stories about powerful human connection first and foremost. In our brief lifetimes, when i look back over my timeline, it will be these moments i think about and will be forever grateful for. Honored to have directed the launch film for the just-announced @fujifilmx_us X-E5 ahd the new XF23mm 2.8 R WR Pancake Lens. I had the pleasure of directing and editing this short, documenting Melissa Breyer (@melbreyer ) one of the most talented NYC-based street photographers that I know. I have been a fan of Melissa’s work for half a decade or more, and being given the opportunity to watch her make images and speak to her about her philosophy and approach to seeing and making photos was just incredible. It’s projects like this one that are those rare gems where everything comes together and where I realize how lucky and honored I am to do this as a job - an amazing, inspiring talent in Melissa, a subject and backdrop of New York City that I spend all my time exploring and photographing, a genre of photography that i’ve been obsessed with since as long as i can remember, a focus of how we see and the inspiration we draw from to express our creative vision, a crew who is a dream and absolute pleasure to collaborate with, and a client that doesn’t just permit but insists we go all out and make a story in our vision. These gems of projects are rare diamonds and don’t come along often, and to have our little film selected for the global launch announcement of these new products is nothing short of amazing and a testament to the power of a great collaborative team. This one was special, thank you all ❤️ Client: Fujifilm Director: @davegeffin Director of Photography: @nilu.amin Executive Producer: @jackieismerry Creative Producer: @varina_hart Production Manager: @tani___paige Production Sound: @hasaninsane Lifestyle Photography: @shottinyc PA: @yxunghermes Post Production Manager: Jason Koczanowicz Editor: @davegeffin Assistant Editor: @marierich715 Color: @rwcolors Sound Mix: @tambal3

This was easily one of the most special projects I’ve ever worked on. Bryan and his son Miles created incredible imagery in White Sands NM as part of their “Traveler” project for the release of the new @fujifilmx_us GFX 100S 2 camera and GF 500mm lens. More than just beautiful imagery, this was an exploration of (re)tapping into childlike wonder, as well as a way to improve on generational parenting cycles. Bryan intentions involved Miles throughout - building gear, scouting, concepts for images and planning intricate shots around the lunar cycle. All the images you see Bryan got in camera, he’s a genius. Seeing him and Miles work and play on the dunes from first to last light was truly special to witness and be a part of. By deeply involving his son, Bryan strove to build an even deeper bond with Miles, more than he himself had experienced with his own father. It was a beautiful thing to witness in real time, and to realize we were all creating work that would be a reminder of the impact of this project on both Bryan and Miles’ lives forever. This project crystallized for me why I do what I do. Bryan successfully wove in themes of Chinese art and triptych storytelling through a series of 3 images showcasing a story that represents his own childhood, his own escape into creativity and artistry, and finally a note of positive hope for the future, a shining beacon of light symbolizing a brighter future. His work is phenomenal and is on permanent display at @fotocarenyc . I’ve been wanting to work on a project that explores father and son relationships for years, and specifically how one father (in this case Bryan) aims to raise the bar on what good (or better) fatherhood can look like. This was that project for me. Huge thanks to Bryan and his fam, and the team that made all of this possible: Photographer/Talent - @bryanminear Astronaut-in-training/Talent - Miles Minear Director/operator - @davegeffin DP - @nilu.amin Sound mixer - @rayell.abad Creative producer - @varina_hart Executive Producer - @jackieismerry Post production manager - Jason Koczanowicz Production manager - @tani___paige Editor - Anthony Phillips Color - @rwcolors

The longest, coldest winter for many years in NYC. It’s finally starting to feel like the deep thaw and long cold dark nights are done and spring is around the corner. . . . . #streetphotography #newyork #streetphotographer

14 miles through the great blizzard of 2026. Here’s some of what I saw. Huge thanks to @kylersteele and @avdidit for the 3am sock dry mission, and to @fujifilmx_us for gear that refuses to quit in a storm. Glad I pushed through the night and shared this with friends @nocolor_jte @kylersteele @avdidit ❤️ 📷 GFX100 II & GFX100RF #streetphotography #fujifilm #newyork #snow

A 14 mile walk over 14 hours, 7pm until 9am, the blizzard of 2026. I’d waited 10 years since the last storm like this, I figured I may as well make a night of it. This is some of what I saw. Thanks to @fujifilmx_us for making gear that works in these sorts of conditions. Filmed on GFX100 2 and GFX100 RF . . . . #streetphotography #newyork #streetphotographer #fujifilm_us #blizzard
