Photos I Took at Night with @amarancreators Ray 60c and Ace 25c
This month I worked with the Ray 60c and Ace 25c. I typically use the 120c series from amaran, but I wanted to switch to lighter, more affordable options to show what’s possible with a simpler setup.
These lights are highly portable and versatile, with mounting options and accessories that make it easy to create a range of looks. I’ve been shooting a series using direct red lighting during blue hour to create strong contrast against the sky, and this setup has handled it cleanly and consistently.

Night Photography with the @amarancreators Ray 60c, Spotlight SE, and Peak 75 Battery
For my recent night photography sessions, I’ve been using the amaran Spotlight SE paired with the amaran Ray 60c and amaran Peak Battery. I initially worked with a gobo in earlier shoots, but for this session I started by aiming the light through a bush. It created harsh, high-contrast shadows that added a strong, dramatic look to my subject.
For the second subject, where there were fewer natural obstructions, I introduced a gobo to shape the light. It added a layer of texture that helped bring more depth and character to the scene.
The smaller Peak 75 battery operates as a handle and power source for the light. This whole set up is really portable and powerful which is great for these quick night photography sessions.

100MP Photography on Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C
The Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C is a seriously powerful camera. It produces massive 100MP files that let you crop in almost endlessly while still keeping incredible detail. It also captures 16 bit RAW images using Hasselblad Natural Color Solution.
Hasselblad Natural Color Solution delivers amazing colors straight out of the camera. There are no profiles to adjust. It just delivers a true to life rendition of what the scene looked like. Also, Hasselblad Natural Color Solution HDR can be enabled in Phocus when shooting RAW which allows for editing that expands color and brightness so highlights can truly glow and expand on the dynamic range of the photo.
With 16-bit RAW files there are over a trillion colors to be accessed in the image. The extra color depth helps tricky sunset gradients stay smooth and natural instead of breaking apart.
In addition to the way this camera produces beautiful 100MP images, the 1TB SSD, phase detection autofocus, and waist level design all make me really enjoy this experience.

Two-light night setup with the Ace 25c from @amarancreators
Picking up the amaran Ace 25c after a long winter, I am reminded just how portable and powerful these lights are! The internal battery of these lights last my night session and I am able to try out a ton of creative looks. For this shoot, I went with the classic red, but decided to try out blue and green to see how I liked those looks at night. I still think red is my favorite for the contrast with blue hour!

Unboxing Fujifilm X Half and Simulation Overview
What do we think of this camera? I love the creativity that Fujifilm went with. Could be see some of these screen aspects and never in the XPro4 or other cameras? Would be really cool!

Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C Photography with the Control Grip and Optical Viewfinder
As complete as the Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C already is, it can be paired with a few accessories that add both functionality and enjoyment. The two I use most often are the Control Grip and the Optical Viewfinder.
The Optical Viewfinder is simple but very functional. It includes frame lines for my three favorite lenses, the 28mm, 38mm, and 55mm. The viewfinder is bright and accurate, and I enjoy composing while seeing the real scene instead of relying on the rear LCD from time to time.
The Control Grip adds a lot to the camera as well. It includes an additional shutter button, customizable buttons, a joystick, and a dial. The grip helps the Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C feel closer to a modern camera design when I need to work at a faster pace.
Overall, I really enjoy these accessories and find that they work especially well for certain types of shooting.

Spring on Fujifilm X-T50
Blooms have been exceptional this year. If you haven't chased some of the scenes with all the life coming back, this is your sign to get outside!
I really didn't expect to photograph much during the spring but I have been out (even during the heat wave) chasing the blooms and I fear that I will probably be doing it every year!

Cherry Blossoms on Hasselblad
Last years blooms were amazing and I am getting a late start to photographing the blooms this year. I initially wasn't going to chase them too much but spring fever has fully got me. Where is your favorite spot to photograph blooms?
Camera is X2D but I now use the X2D II. Crazy looking back on which cameras I was using at certain times of the year!
Macro Photos I Took with @amarancreators Halo 100x of the Sigma BF Camera
Product photography is something I’ve been wanting to spend more time practicing. The Halo 100x paired with the Spotlight SE gave me a more focused, contrasty beam, which helped shape the light and add depth across the camera’s surfaces.
For this shoot, I leaned into that harder, more directional look to bring out the details that make the Sigma BF stand out. Small adjustments in light placement made a big difference, especially when working this close. I really enjoyed the simple controls of the Halo 100x that let me dial in this look quickly.

Waist Level Photography on the Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C
Shooting at waist level with the Hasselblad 907X & CFV 100C has been a really enjoyable experience. It reminds me a lot of using my film Hasselblad, but with all the modern features of a professional digital camera.
I have especially enjoyed operating the camera with my left hand while viewing the screen at waist level. It has slowed down my pace and shifted my perspective when shooting, which has led to me keeping more images from a session.
For such a small package, it is surprising how much is built into this camera. Features like 1TB of internal storage, phase detection autofocus, and a 100MP sensor are all packed into the system.
