“Hip Hop Lit” is an AR academic course we created with Dr. Tyechia Thompson for Virginia Tech students in her 2023 Black American Literature class. But now it’s available to anyone in the world who wants to learn about hip hop’s key aesthetics. What’s more, I will soon update the app with the tests built into it so everyone can challenge themselves at the end of each lesson. Also, it features a hologram of Nikki Giovanni. Enjoy.

Quantum Critic is a three year project that supports artistic exchange between Finland, Russia, the Baltics, and Ukraine. The project brings together artists who all share the same passion for expressing their ideas, feelings, and conceptual frameworks in their artistic practice and who continue to work in difficult times and situations.
Traditionally the third exhibition consisted of two parts. One was held in the amazing pop up space of Bock House on Senate Square and presented real art pieces by 16 artists, the other was virtual. Myymälä2 in collaboration with Aacoop collective from Thailand launched a groundbreaking contemporary art metaverse exhibition hosted on Spatial.io. The project marked a pioneering achievement incorporating gamification principles and a fresh perspective on exhibition spaces.
Quantum critic received a grant from the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture as an International Cooperation and Intercultural Dialogue project.

I developed it for our partner Blockhouse Studios, a flagship company producing Immersive Architectural Cinema located in Bloomington, Indiana, and founded by Kevin Winkler. The app delivers a virtual version of the massive cinematic show that Blockhouse Studios produced for the Palladium concert hall in Carmel, Indiana, to your own space. In the App, there are two modes to experience the show: 1. a scaled model that you can manipulate with your hands in mixed reality. 2. real-life scale of the building, which you can walk around in VR.

We proudly present “EOS: The First Dawn,” a projection-mapped art installation. Immerse yourself in the ancient mythology of Eos, the Greek goddess of the dawn who summons the sunrise in her enchanted gown. She is joined by her two siblings, Helios, the joyous sun god, and Selene, the goddess of the moon. Utilizing multiple industrial projectors, the Palladium is bathed in breathtaking visuals at ultra-high resolution in this unique display of Architectural Cinematography.

Learn some of hip hop’s key aesthetics through short augmented reality lectures delivered by Dr. Tyechia Thompson.
This AR app contains introductory lectures from the “Black American Literature” course taught by a digital hologram of Dr. Tyechia Thompson, an assistant professor in the Department of English at Virginia Tech.
This course explores some key aesthetics and some aspects of the philosophy and culture of Hip Hop. After each lesson, this course also features quizzes to evaluate knowledge. “The Sources” contains references made by Dr. Tyechia Thompson in this course. These AR lectures adopt new approaches to teaching and learning using immersive media technology.
