C+GA is honored to serve as architect for 1024 Fulton Street in Clinton Hill, a neighborhood many of our staff call home. The mixed-use building will bring 125 permanently affordable homes together with an intergenerational community center and a neighborhood health clinic. The community center will be the new home of
@fortgreenecouncil , a neighborhood anchor for over 50 years serving older adults, children, and families.
@onebrooklynhealth will provide on-site clinical services.
Designing to Passive House standards prioritizes long-term performance, comfort, and resilience. A high-performance envelope, calibrated window proportions, and articulated facades reduce energy demand while maximizing daylight and livability, reinforcing the connection between sustainability and housing equity.
Composed as a series of distinct brick volumes, subtle tonal shifts respond to the rhythm of Fulton Street, while a two-story glazed community base establishes a strong civic presence at grade. Cascading terraces step down toward Crispus Attucks Playground to the east, extending open space upward and engaging both the street and the park.
