Reclaimed earth shapes a series of gentle slopes and pathways at Richmond Highlands Park, reimagining the neighborhood park as a landscape of movement, play, and sensory experience. Designed by
@mithun_design , the park unfolds as a continuous loop—connecting a range of play environments while creating a fully accessible terrain for exploration.
Anchoring the park, a sensory garden draws from native flora and the poetic movement of wind-drifted maple seeds, blending engagement and curiosity with moments of quiet retreat. Discrete outdoor “rooms,” layered textures, and shifting patterns of light and shade invite variation in play, offering opportunities to gather and ground while framed in a landscape of mature, native Pacific Northwest trees.
