A Blank Canvas is a Beige Building with Fluorescent Lights (A Blank Canvas) is a zine publication about Kapo Factory Building, an industrial building built in post-independent Singapore in the 1970s, and home to an ever-changing roster of local brands, businesses, and creative studios. Most of the photos here were taken in 2025 February during our first open building event, Kapo Weekend (KaPoW for short), and shows the diversity of tenancy use in a humble and unspectacular factory building. Living on a temporary lease, the description of Kapo as a second ‘home’ is a disputable one; can one feel at home dwelling at the precipice of rental uncertainty? Can dreams, culture and neighbourliness bloom in this surprising oasis? A small sample of tenants are represented in four pages each, easily detachable from the folder to be read, and thereafter waiting to be reattached, or rehoused on your wall as a poster print. made by a symphony of people & machine. Publishing & Design by @accid_nt & @konstrukt_labs Text, Photography & Collages by @accid_nt Silkscreen Printing by @konstrukt_labs Risograph Printing by @bang_bang_zine @inkinkder (KL) DM me or drop by @open.door.store for your copy! If you are in KL, the zine is also stocked at our riso printers @bang_bang_zine . We would love to see how it ends up in your home/office/studio — do share and tag! Kapo Factory is a beige building for everybody. 1, 2, 3- Silkscreen on Paper File by @konstrukt_labs , with handwritten text by Jeremy, Allie, Adalia & Chan 4 - Inside pages include two small booklets with description, credits & a short photo essay, and 8 spreads of tenant spaces. 5 - Small booklet B 6 - Riso printing and process by @bang_bang_zine @inkinkder 7 - Tenant spreads (outside) 8 - Tenant spreads (inside) feature unique collages of individual tenant spaces 9, 10 - More of the printing process. so satisfying!

We won an award!! Best of the best award in Architecture Photography MasterPrize (@architecturemasterprize )2024, for photography of an Equatorial School of Architecture. 🥳 We are so stoked to share this news with all of you! I submitted this with the intention to also bring equatorial projects and photography into the international arena — quite a great contrast to the majority of temperate photography within the submission and winner pool. This news is also timely, and in line with other activities brewing in the practice. Watch this space, and thank you for all the support! Equatorial School of Architecture Design led by @erik_lheureux Design team - SDE Special Projects Project architect - @cpgcorporation Submission description: “Instead of experiencing the temperate seasons of spring, summer, fall and winter, the equator experiences variations of weather across hours, days, and months. Depending on the movement of the clouds, humidity and the time of day, a variety of light and weather conditions imbue architecture projects with surprising atmospheres. The Equatorial School of Architecture is an adaptive reuse project located in the equatorial city of Singapore, which I photographed over different days in a year. In this series, the architecture becomes a backdrop and silent observer to the atmosphere of the equator.”
