BTP is so excited to support the multi-disciplinary crazinsT artisT who is presenting an evening of multi-screenings of their performances, followed by a communal ritual and a talk Q and A. Pls see the vFd link for tickets @vfdalston . Ticket profit goes towards supporting the artisT and community work in Ghana. Pay what you can £10+ . We thank @aaronzimbra @fiercefestival for their help in making this event happen. Pls follow this incredible artist whose work moves us to tears and recognition of the violence and hostility that we all suffer from and the hope that awaits us @crazinist_artist . Pronoun: ‘sHit’ if not ‘she’. Born in 1981 in Ho, Ghana, Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi [crazinisT artisT] works internationally but lives in Kumasi, Ghana. sHit is a multidisciplinary ‘artivist’, curator, founder and artistic director of perfocraZe International Artists Residency (pIAR) which aims at promoting exchanges between international and local artists, activists, researchers, curators and thinkers. As a performer and installation artist, crazinisT investigates gender stereotypes, prejudices, queerness, identity politics and conflicts, sexual stigmas and their consequences for marginalized groups or individuals. With rituals and a gender-fluid persona, sHit employs sHits own body as a thought-provoking tool in performances, photography, video and installations. sHit ‘life-and-live-art’ confronts issues such as: disenfranchisement, social justice, violence, objectification, internalized oppression, anti-blackness, 'systemic indoctrination', and more. crazinisT has performed and exhibited across the globe, including Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, Switzerland, South Africa, Germany, Netherlands, Cape Verde, USA,Sweden, Japan, Spain, Brazil, France and the UK. sHit has also been featured in several publications and magazines, such as I-D Vice London, I-D Vice Amsterdam, The Financial Times, King Kong Magazine, CCQ London, Maimi Rails, ‘Freeflowingvisuals’, TRT WORD Film Documentary, This is Africa, Art Ghana, Lost At E Minor, CNN, The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Tageszeitung (TAZ), Horizonte da Cena and Radio FRO.

Join from Black Trans Project on Saturday 22nd October as we celebrate and support our dear friend and Trans icon Ms Winn. @nenehcherryofficial @lyallhakaraia Having recently been evicted from her home, we're asking that Camden Council approaches Ms Winn's case with sensitivity and knowledge. A Black trans women should not be isolated away from the community and safe environment that she has built around her. By holding this event we hope to highlight the issues, not only with the rental system, but also the blanket approach that Camden Council has taken to one of its constituents that doesn't reflect its own public diversity policies. Winn is not a victim, we celebrate her persistence and defiance in the face of adversity. There'll be talks, times to dance and a bar throughout the night! The profit from the ticket sales will go to support Winn navigate the uprooted nature of being evicted. @winn_0007 @vfdalston

Black Trans Project continues to support the community as we fundraise to raise 5K to support the artsists who contributed to the EP 'The Gift' and the Black Trans icon Georgina Beyer. Please buy single tracks or the whole EP or donate a gift on Bandcamp during April 2020. The musical artist we are supporting are Akashi, Angel Ho, Karnage Kills, Ms. Carrie Stacks and the illustrator Shian Raveneau. The artists Honey Dijon has generously donated earnings from her track to Black Trans Project. Monday 13th of April / BBC Radio 6 Music with Mary Anne Hobbs played the Honey Dijon track 'Different' from the EP the Gift blacktransproject.bandcamp.com Angel Ho / @angel_h0 / photo @shiraz.the.alien . . We love this bio from Angel !!! Angel-Ho is a Musician & Creative Director from South Africa Cape Town. Angel places contemporary social issues in performance, drag, and a digital space whereby they deconstruct the powers of oppression. In other words, diving into the fantasy of reality of being a feminine gender non-conforming queer African body with the capacity to critique the history we create as a society.
