Keets and I had the most amazing day!
A few weeks ago we were invited by the glorious gentle and dynamic folk at This Day Foundation to meet President Barack Obama at a private round table discussion to be held ahead of his talk at the O2.
It was part of This Day’s powerful work on leadership and building stronger communities, we were so honoured and excited to be invited! Talk about dreamy! We expected it to be fascinating and interesting but I’m not sure anything could have prepared us for how truly inspired uplifted and galvanised we would be, not just by meeting the truly extraordinary Mr Obama, but by the wonderful souls in that room. We are living in such a time of perceived fracture and the noise of anger and frustration can at times feel hugely overwhelming. That room brought light! It brought hope! It reminded us that there are legions of great people doing good work day in and day out. Mr Obama told us to hold the line, to step towards our better instincts, to step towards the light in ourselves and we have both genuinely been taking a moment, taking time each day to remind ourselves of this, and you know what? It really helps! Taking agency helps.
I just want to say thank you so very much to Gary Lubner and the most excellent folk at This Day for inviting us to be in that moment with those beautiful people, Thank you for reminding us of the goodness in the world and reminding us to turn our faces to the sun! We are READY for what comes next!
With unending gratitude to @barackobama and the @obamafoundation ….

SRI LANKA!! There’s a kind of magic in places like this — the kind that makes you slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what joy feels like. The most stunning place to stay… glorious
Sun on your skin, food that hugs you from the inside out, and the sea singing its sweet, steady song.
And then… tiny turtles, brave as you like, making their way into the great wide ocean.
Oh, life. You are delicious. Thank you @thesixweligama@theonegroupofhotels@jayaflava ❤️❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥 📸 @jeannettelee ❤️🔥👏🏾🌟

Last night, we welcomed the brilliant Andi Oliver to a sold-out Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton for our second special event of the year ❤️
These evenings at HMP Brixton celebrate the power of food to connect people and break down barriers — something The Clink has been doing for many years, and will continue to do for many more to come.
Our thanks go to our guests, our Clink staff, the fantastic team at HMP Brixton, Andi Oliver and her wonderful team and, most of all, our students, who gained so much from learning alongside one of the best in the business.
Keep an eye on our social media channels next week for news of another very special guest visiting The Clink in late May 👀
Oh, and remember it's the Great British Menu final tonight!
