This achievement follows years of research involving over 5,000 books and 200 tested recipes. By challenging the limited perceptions of Sri Lankan food abroad, the project has evolved from a personal mission into a global cultural narrative supported by partners like Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and Mastercard.
The transition from a cookbook to a major broadcast series highlights the power of authentic storytelling in the global market. Marikkar, an LSE alumna with a background in advertising, has leveraged her strategic expertise to position traditional cuisine on an international stage. This milestone reinforces the growing demand for diverse culinary identities and establishes a new standard for how national heritage is exported and celebrated globally.

But it doesn’t stop there — expect a crazy adventure in Ella at Flying Ravana Adventure Park (slightly out of my comfort zone… a few tears, mostly laughs), and a stop in Bentota to explore the legendary architecture of Geoffrey Bawa at Cinnamon Bentota Beach. THIS IS A BIG EPISODE.
